We are actively recruiting high achieving individuals with AI and Data expertise in data-enabled transformation projects/ programmes within Financial Services: Banking, Insurance and Wealth and Asset management.
We are seeking an experienced Data Management Manager with a strong technology consulting background and experience in delivering data heavy projects in Financial Services Industry, and specialisation in design and implementation of data assets management systems to ensure they're organised, stored, and maintained in a way that supports an organisation's information systems and business objectives. The ideal candidate will have experience in data governance, end-to-end technical data management, issue gap analysis and data issue remediation for financial, risk and regulatory change projects, as well as understanding of data compliance requirements, hands on knowledge of relevant systems and tools, and awareness of current industry trends and best practices. They will also have functional understanding of data sets used in the relevant domains in Financial Services industry, as well as technical skills such as master data and reference data management, data modelling and warehousing, database technologies, ETL processing and tools, and proficiency in SQL.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Design, shape, mobilise and oversee data workstreams for data-enabled client engagements.
- Collaborate with IT and business teams to understand business and technical requirements in order to identify, prioritise and document data management requirements for data-enabled business or technology change.
- Conduct thorough analysis of existing data management processes and systems, identifying areas for improvement and integration with new solutions.
- Analyse and conduct gap analysis in existing data management processes and lifecycle to identify impact areas and design solution options. Recommend technology options, both using the client’s existing systems and tools, and recommending alternatives.
- Develop and implement data management solutions to support the implementation of process, technology and reporting changes, while ensuring internal and external data compliance. Understand impact of regulatory requirements on data solutions, such as BCBS239 principles.
- Monitor data quality and integrity throughout the transformation process, implementing controls and fixes as needed and maintaining compliance with the organisation’s Data Governance and Data Management policies and procedures.
- Implement Data Lineage process improvements and maintain documentation to trace data from source to report. Conduct data lineage gap analysis and provide insights on existing systems, technology, and recommended improvements.
- Provide technical expertise and support for data-related issues, including troubleshooting and resolving data integrity problems.
- Serve as a liaison between business stakeholders, technical and data teams, ensuring clear communication and understanding of data lifecycle requirements, challenges, and objectives.
- Support the design and implementation of risk, finance and/ or regulatory solutions with data lifecycle expertise, ensuring alignment with business goals and compliance with internal and external policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Conduct research, write thought leadership papers and coordinate insights sessions on impact of regulatory changes on the data management processes and technical solutions, as well as on industry trends selection and implementation of new data management technologies, tools, and systems.
- Provide training and documentation to end-users to ensure successful use and adoption of available data management assets.
To qualify for the role, you must have
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics/ Applied Mathematics, Quantitative Economics, Engineering, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or equivalent professional education.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience with a blue-chip consulting firm in a people and/ or project data leadership position, e.g. data team lead, data project lead, data workstream lead etc.
- Relevant work experience in client-facing data governance, data management, data engineering or data change delivery roles.
- Experience working with Financial Services clients (Banking, Insurance or Wealth and Asset Management), ideally in Ireland and / or UK.
- Knowledge of data management frameworks, processes, compliance requirements, and impact of relevant regulations on data lifecycle (e.g. BCBS239 in banking).
- Familiarity with Customer, Finance, Risk or/ and Regulatory Reporting domains in Financial Services industry.
- Experience working with a selection of data management technologies, tools, and languages, e.g. DQ Management systems like Informatica, Talend, Experian, IBMInfoSphere Information Analyzer, SAS Data Management, etc; Data governance and metadata management tools like Collibra, Alation, and Informatica Axon; Database Management Systems (DBMS) such as Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, and PostgreSQL; ETL tools like Informatica or Talend, Teradata, Oracle, IBM Bd2 etc, Collibra, Alteryx; AWS, Azure, Python, R.
- Advanced Excel and SQL expertise is a must.
- Knowledge of version control systems such as Git for managing changes to code and data models.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience in managing stakeholder relationships in the data domain.
- Ability to craft clear and professional PowerPoint presentations that effectively communicate complex data and insights.
- Team centric mindset, always ready support the client and the team.
- Understanding and respect for client and team deadlines, great organisation skills and ability to organise and prioritise own work to achieve the delivery objectives.
Ideally, you’ll also have:
- DAMA or DCAM certifications are an advantage.
- Relevant Data Engineering or Data Management certifications.
- Teradata experience and certifications.
- Project delivery credentials, e.g. project management or agile delivery certification are an advantage.
- Knowledge of NoSQL database technologies a plus, e.g. MongoDB, Cassandra, Neo4j are a plus.
- Ability to deal with ambiguity and uncertainty.
- Growth and continuous learning mindset.
- Be able to conduct workshops and stakeholder interviews.
- Ability to build and manage relationships across business and technology stakeholders.
- Management of MI/ BI reports or preparation and delivery of regulatory reports as a bonus.
