The Team and the opportunity
We are looking for a Director to join our team within Financial Services Tax – Automatic Exchange of Information
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage AEOI engagements across FATCA, CRS and related AEOI matters, providing both advisory and reporting support to financial institutions and entities in scope.
- Support the end‑to‑end reporting cycle, including data collection, data validation, analytics, quality review, and submission through relevant tax authority portals.
- Interpret complex AEOI regulations and develop practical, risk‑aligned solutions to help clients meet their compliance obligations.
- Act as a key point of contact for clients, providing technical guidance, addressing regulatory queries, and advising on emerging global transparency requirements.
- Lead scoping, planning, and delivery of multi‑workstream regulatory reporting projects, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
- Review and challenge technical work produced by junior team members, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and alignment with regulatory guidance.
- Support clients with AEOI control frameworks, process improvements, data governance, and readiness assessments.
- Manage advisory work such as AEOI impact assessments, governance reviews, remediation projects and regulatory change implementation.
- Coordinate with US specialists to provide support to relevant clients on US reporting regimes (e.g., QI, 1042‑S, PFIC),
- Collaborate with technology teams to design or enhance AEOI reporting processes using automation, data tools, or workflow solutions.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships, identifying opportunities for value‑add services and supporting business development initiatives.
- Mentor, coach, and support junior team members, contributing to capability building within the AEOI practice.
- Monitor regulatory updates globally and communicate impacts to internal teams and clients.
- Contribute to thought leadership, internal training, and the continuous improvement of AEOI methodologies, templates, and tools.
Candidate profile:
Ideal candidate should have one or more of the following education/experiences:
- Demonstrated experience leading engagements/programmes involving AEOI regimes including FATCA, CRS and related global transparency frameworks.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in tax practice, ideally in relation to AEOI issues. Longer experience needed for the most senior level roles.
- Proven track record managing advisory projects and end‑to‑end reporting cycles for complex financial institutions or multinational clients.
- University degree in Tax, Finance, Business, Accounting, Data Analytics, Law or a related discipline
Other requirements for the role include:
Ideal technical & regulatory expertise:
- Deep understanding of global tax transparency regulations, reporting schemas, due‑diligence requirements, and compliance frameworks.
- Experience interpreting legislation, regulatory guidance, and applying requirements pragmatically to client processes.
- Familiarity with US withholding and reporting regimes (e.g., QI, 1042-S, PFIC) is a strong advantage.
- Strong capability in data analysis and managing large, multi‑jurisdictional datasets used for AEOI reporting.
Leadership & Project Management
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, supervise junior members, and provide high‑quality technical coaching.
- Strong project management skills with experience delivering multiple workstreams concurrently in fast‑paced environments.
- Ability to review complex work products, challenge assumptions, and ensure high standards of technical accuracy and quality.
Client & Stakeholder Engagement
- Excellent communication skills with ability to translate regulatory requirements into practical solutions for clients.
- Experience building and managing client relationships, identifying opportunities, and supporting business development initiatives.
- Confident in advising senior stakeholders and presenting regulatory changes, risk assessments, and process improvements.
Technology & Analytical Skills
- Proficient in MS Excel and other analytical tools; experience with any of Power BI, Power Automate, Alteryx or similar tools is advantageous.
- Comfortable working with structured data, reporting systems, and workflow tools to streamline AEOI processes.
