At EY, we are expanding our Cloud Engineering and DevOps Group and specifically building our Technology Consulting practice. Due to this expansion, we are seeking to recruit high achieving Cloud Engineering Advisory Lead to be part of our growing business. 

The opportunity

We are recruiting an experienced Cloud Transformation Lead to join our technology consulting practice. This is a Senior Manager level role guiding clients on cloud engineering solutions and architecture for large-scale cloud transformation projects. Most of your time will be spent embedded with our client’s team and we’ll look to you to provide them with a unique perspective on how they must continue to innovate and remain competitive with cloud and DevOps / CI/CD technologies. Part of the role is also to grow our local cloud engineering capabilities through coaching and recruitment.

Key Responsibilities

Client responsibilities

• Analyse clients’ cloud transformation and engineering improvement opportunities, and provide relevant and practical solutions to address those needs
• Lead the implementation of new cloud services at our client sites
• Leverage our alliance partnerships to develop proof of concepts and make recommendations on best practice cloud architectures and tooling including on re-platforming or re-architecting applications and development of DevOps capabilities
• Build relationships and trust with various customer technical communities including Architecture and Technical Leads and up to CTO/CIO.
• Work with our Industry teams at EY to ensure Cloud is infused into broader EY solutions.
• Contribute to proposals and client presentations for complex IT delivery projects
• Actively contribute to EY’s Technology Transformation
• Understand all our consulting service offerings and Alliance partnerships, and actively identify opportunities to better serve clients and be able to build meaningful external relationships with our clients and internal relationships across service lines.
• Lead Technology Consulting engagements and support in managing team performance and commercials

To qualify for the role, you must have

• Experience in technical leadership roles at a consulting/professional services company, cloud provider, or customer environment in the EU/UK region.
• Industry exposure with great depth & breadth across the Cloud Migration & Modernisation Landscape to support cloud adoption journeys
• Minimum of 5 years advising on and / or implementing Cloud Engineering solutions along and have led the transition from monolithic architectures to more loosely coupled solutions leveraging Cloud Native and microservices
• Minimum 5 years’ experience working with or for one or more of the major cloud providers
• Minimum 2 years’ experience advising on and / or implementing CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with container orchestration systems e.g. Kubernetes, Open Shift, Docker.
• Strong technical knowledge of Cloud concepts IaaS, PaaS, SaaS with experience in provisioning cloud (Azure, AWS or GCP) environments using IaC - Terraform, ARM template
• Excellent leadership and teaming skills
• Ability to understand business challenges and translate them into value-added analytic solutions
• Ability to act as a client contact on project engagements; run client status and other client meetings
• Relevant industry certifications.

Ideally, you’ll also have

• Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related discipline
• Experience with strategic Cloud initiatives, preferably focused on financial services
• Experience in establishing world-class assets in the Cloud domains, including experience in activating them across a broad portfolio of clients.
• Hands-on transformation experience in working on the client-side, with a large enterprise in a senior role will be a definite advantage.
• Knowledgeable in cloud integration, and cloud migration patterns like rehost, refactor, rearchitect
• Excellent presentation skills.
