The Finance competency at EY is a multifaceted team that focuses on providing expert guidance and support to clients in navigating complex regulatory landscapes, managing and analysing finance and risk data, and implementing finance transformation initiatives. Our goal is to drive the finance and risk functions’ effectiveness, agility and value contribution within the clients organisation which can include integration of new technologies, optimisation of processes and the adoption of innovative practices.
EY’s FSO Business Consulting are experiencing an exciting period of growth due to the financial services sector undergoing rapid transformative changes. In response to market demand, we are looking for an experienced senior manager, working in the Financial Services Industry in Ireland or UK with proven expertise in leadership of complex Regulatory delivery projects.
Your Key Responsibilities:
We are looking for a person with Finance and/or Risk Regulatory experience, a track record in project and team leadership experience, client relationship management excellence, communication, and business acumen as well as a passion for innovation, building high performing teams and culture of trust, respect, and diversity.
Client Responsibilities:
- Manage Regulatory driven engagements with our clients and provide high quality consulting services to a portfolio of clients.
- Lead teams to elicit business requirements across a range of Finance and Risk stakeholders and translating into practical data and transformational needs. You, and your team, will require the ability to bridge the language of both business and IT/Data delivery to define a common solution.
- Seamlessly work through ambiguous problems, defining client needs, approach to resolving complex engagements and recommending solutions that deliver value to stakeholders.
- Write sharp and concise documents at a suitable for C Suite client level.
- Deliver presentations to C Suite client level and handle live feedback from clients.
- Own the management of C Suite client stakeholders, to provide confidence, comfort and reassurance in solution delivery.
- Be responsible for building valuable relationships with our clients and to develop a track-record of expertise that is recognised throughout the market.
- Understand EY’s service offerings and actively identify opportunities to better serve clients across our range of services.
- Work with a global team of experts to develop unique and innovative solutions as well as benefitting from best-in-class training and development and bring the right insights and capability at the right time for our client engagements.
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert on Finance and Risk data and reporting matters and stay abreast of emerging business and industry trends relevant to our clients’ needs.
- Develop and maintain long term client relationships and networks.
- Own the business relationship with the client.
- Identify business development opportunities and lead proposal development efforts.
Practice and People Development Responsibilities:
- Guide and mentor diverse teams through practical experience of the implementation of Regulatory driven change. Coach our people to help them navigate their career in EY, support them with their personal development and the necessary performance management processes.
- Adapt your leadership style to fit team, client, and their cultural needs.
- Create thought leadership pieces that build the reputation of our teams: including public blogs, interviews and speaking at industry conferences on Finance and Risk Data topics.
- Lead business development activities, such as proposals, thought leadership and producing input for client events.
- Lead team operations ensuring that all operational metrics are met for utilisation, timesheet and related internal engagement management processes and system inputs.
- Foster a supportive, inclusive and growth team-oriented work culture.
To qualify for the role, you must have:
- Minimum of 12 years’ relevant experience. Key areas of experience include previous consulting experience and expertise of regulatory reporting requirements - for example in-depth knowledge of BCBS239, RDARR, IReF, IFRS 9.
- Primary degree.
- Ability to shape complex solutions and seamlessly work through ambiguous problems, bringing cross-service line experience to recommend solutions that deliver value to the client.
- Experience in seeking the alignment of business and IT, operating across organisational and technology silos to drive common approaches, delivering sustainable, agile and re-usable solutions.
- A thorough understanding of the data governance requirements for regulatory reporting, including, but not limited to, data ownership, data quality management and data taxonomy .
- Significant client relationship management skills, gained through prior consulting roles or within large financial services / technology organisations.
- Proven track record in leading large and complex (multi-year) regulatory reporting transformation projects and engagements end to end, with experience of applying methodologies such as Prince 2/ Agile/Scrum.
- Experience of delivering change through multi-disciplinary stakeholders and collaborating across jurisdictions.
- Strong communications skills, with experience of leading strategy material and presenting to C-suite stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, supervise and develop others, effectively communicate, manage budgets, timelines, and plans, manage client expectations, deliver quality projects.
- Experience in the establishment, training and managing teams comprised of both staff, contractor, and strategic partners.
Ideally, you will also have:
- Experience in regulatory reporting production – experience of producing critical reporting underpinning capital, liquidity and profitability with appropriate control frameworks.
- Project Management Certification and/or Agile certification desirable (e.g. PRINCE2, Scrum Master).
- Experience in the identification, evaluation and deployment of the right technology to support our clients’ strategic agenda including exposure to Cloud platforms, a wide range of regulatory reporting tools, PowerBI or similar tools to support our clients in leveraging the appropriate technology to enhance performance.
- Management Consulting experience.
