EY’s market leading Reshaping Results team within Strategy and Transaction (SaT) service line provides advice to corporate and private equity firms who intend to improve performance or restructure businesses. The team comprises advisors with specialist value creation, performance improvement, commercial, operations, IT and deal / transaction experience from industry, advisory and audit backgrounds.

Our Reshaping Results team is a specialist service dedicated to guiding our clients through the challenges related performance improvement. We have a market-leading proposition to create and maximise value for our clients, whether they are undertaking operational restructuring to improve performance as a robust business or are distressed. We work on the most complex and high-profile engagements, across a broad portfolio of clients and industry sectors. We are a group of experienced industry professionals who are serial value creation advisers, which enables us to bring a wealth of deep sector and functional knowledge to our clients. As a team, we identify ideas and sources of value enhancement while advising on risk mitigation. 
  
Your key responsibilities 

 

•    Advise clients across all sectors, supporting key decision makers in developing and executing strategies for value creation. 
•    Provide dedicated support to different types of engagements, including value creation diagnostic, validation, planning and tracking delivery. 
•    Conduct quantitative analysis on financial and operational data of clients to identify value creation opportunities supported by qualitative analysis. 
•    Support development and execution of a comprehensive value creation strategy that aligns with the client’s financial goals and operational needs focussing on P&L cost savings and balance sheet savings. 
•    Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in cost management and operational efficiency. 
•    Support blended project teams comprising colleagues from our strategy and transactions practice as well as support meetings with client stakeholders to advise, shape and drive the planning for value creation and operational restructuring. 
•    Contribute to the management of complex engagements, including commercials, resourcing and risk. 
•    Support the development and growth of our business, and actively engage with delivery of pitches and presentations to senior clients. 
•    Support practice development responsibilities e.g., team meetings, recruitment, training, development of colleagues etc. 
 
Skills and Attributes for success 

 

•    Good team player, adept at building strong working relationships with colleagues and clients. 
•    Demonstrated aptitude for quantitative and qualitative analysis. 
•    Effective written and verbal communication skills. 
•    Demonstrated ability to support identification and prioritisation of practical and implementable yet high-value solutions.  
•    Experience of supporting delivery high-quality reports and presentations. 
•    Experience of supporting large, complex, global delivery programmes. 
•    Excellent problem-solving skills. 
•    Be familiar working in a large-scale consulting environment or industry role where you can demonstrate the ability to perform and summarise analysis into management insights and recommended actions at pace. 
•    Be flexible to support on broader Reshaping Results work. 

 

 

To qualify for the role, you will require: 
 
•    A minimum of 2+ years relevant experience. 
•    Experience of cost saving projects across functional areas and/ or across industries is an added advantage. 
 
As a member of the Reshaping Results team you will require knowledge and experience of one or more of the following: 

 

•    Relevant degrees and certifications (ACA, ACCA, MBA, CIMA, CFA) are an added advantage. 
•    Professional services / consulting experience from a management consultancy, corporate finance firm or as an 'internal consultant' in a corporate environment. 
•    Transactions lifecycle knowledge and experience is not required but an added advantage including synergy assessment and delivery, stand-alone costing, pre-deal cost due diligence etc. 
•    Programme management experience such as of large-scale transformation programmes. 
•    Experience of one or more core operational functions (e.g., procurement, finance, HR, supply chain) 
  
Ideally, you’ll also have 

 

•    Strong analytical skills, with the ability to link operational analysis to financial statements and understand the implications of findings to client strategy. Ideally you will have an accounting qualification, or at least a sound grasp of financial accounting, combined with a high level of business awareness and a strong understanding of the factors that drive financial performance. 
•    Experience of supporting delivery of high-quality reports and presentations. 
•    Strong team participation skills, particularly teams with diverse skills and backgrounds. 
•    Excellent problem-solving skills. 
•    Strong work initiative and the ability to adapt to new challenges and ideas. 
•    Professionalism and consistency in approach to client work, internal business and practice development projects. 
•    Be responsible for fostering an open and inclusive work environment.
