The opportunity


EY’s FSO Data and Analytics Team are experiencing an exciting period of growth due to the finance services sector undergoing rapid transformative changes, with recent acceleration of journeys to cloud, digitalisation, data platform modernisation and adoption of new and emerging technologies, while meeting ongoing regulatory demands. 


In response to market demand, we are looking for an experienced, client facing director with a passion for data and technology, experience in working with Financial Services Industry Clients in Ireland or UK, and proven expertise in leadership of complex Risk and Regulatory Data Delivery projects. 


 

Your Key Responsibilities:


We are looking for a person with technology consulting experience, track record in project and team leadership experience, client relationship management excellence, communication, and business acumen as well as passion for innovation, building high performing teams and culture of trust, respect, and diversity. In your Director role you will lead a consulting and delivery service on a variety of data driven decision making projects, within a fast-paced consulting environment.

 

 

Client responsibilities:

 

  • Lead Data and Analytics consulting engagements end to end, from initial conversations throughout the opportunity and delivery lifecycle. As a senior team member, shape and manage engagement teams.
  • Understand EY’s service offerings and actively identify opportunities to better serve clients across our range of services. 
  • Build and extend client and partner relationships.
  • Identify potential new business opportunities for EY to incubate or drive new solutions and services and collaborate with our clients and partners

 
 

Practice and people development responsibilities:

 

  • Lead diverse teams with varying skillsets, who use a broad selection of Data and Analytics technologies. Adapt your leadership style to fit team, client, and their cultural needs. They will look to you to anticipate and identify risks and escalate issues as appropriate. 
  • Contribute to expanding our brand in the market as industry leaders by attending relevant events, collaborating with other internal teams, producing thought leadership, etc.
  • Participate in business development activities including client presentations and proposals 
  • Play a part in driving our thought leadership agenda by maintaining an up-to-date point of view on the latest methodologies, technologies, and emerging trends for publishing as points of view or proof of concept
  • Foster a supportive, inclusive and growth team-oriented work culture

 

 

Skills and attributes for success:

 

  • Relevant experience in technology consulting with significant management and financial industry knowledge
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, supervise and develop others, effectively communicate, manage budgets, timelines, and plans, manage client expectations, deliver quality projects. 
  • Significant client relationship management skills, gained through prior consulting roles or within large financial services / technology organisations.
  • Proven track record in relevant management and leadership roles in data centric projects and engagements in consulting industry.
  • Experience in delivering successful technology change outcomes, on time and to budget. 
  • Applied knowledge of modern delivery approaches e.g., Agile.
  • Proven expertise in one or more relevant Data and Analytics domains: Data Strategy and Strategic Delivery, Data Architecture and Engineering, Management and Regulatory Reporting. 
  • Experience working in the financial services industry in Ireland and/ or UK, leading Data and Analytics change projects in one of key focus areas: Risk and / or Regulatory.
  • Prior experience in leading data elements of significant Risk and Regulatory Reporting change programmes in the banking sector, such as IFRS9, IRB, BCBS239, CCR, Finrep, Corep, PRA110, Basel III/ IV etc. 
  • A completed degree (Bachelors, Masters, or PhD); with relevant industry certification such as Prince2, PMP, SAFe, Scrum etc. 
  • Familiarity with Teradata on premise architecture, Data Models and End to End data delivery lifecycle in the banking sector an advantage.
