How organisations respond to global challenges such as climate change and sustainability are critical in how they deliver and demonstrate value to stakeholders. In response to this, we are looking for high-performing, innovative and enthusiastic candidates to join our growing team of climate change and sustainability professionals who are building a better working world by helping global organisations to identify, measure, deliver and report on the climate and sustainability issues which are most relevant to create long-term value for business.

 

Your key responsibilities

This role will place you at the heart of a high-energy, agile team that is committed to helping clients build long-term sustainable businesses. This opportunity will enable you to work with leading organisations at Manager level to deliver better outcomes on some of the world’s most pressing climate and sustainability issues. You will interact with EY colleagues globally and work across our different sectors and business activities.

 

Successful candidates will join the Climate Change and Sustainability Services team at EY. Within Climate Change and Sustainability Services our focus areas are climate change, Nature and Biodiversity, sustainable finance,  assurance and advisory, long-term value, and Social and Governance. There will be opportunities to work across the focus areas within the wider team.

Skills and attributes for success

 

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • Keen interest in helping clients to better understand, measure, quantify and articulate sustainability and the long-term value they create for investors and financial services
  • Knowledge and experience of financial services, business strategy and operations, with a strong commercial background and experience in the field of sustainability, social and environmental impact measurement, and reporting.
  • Ability to learn and quickly understand new concepts outside area of expertise.
  • Ability to think strategically but also identify, develop and implement practical solutions.
  • Proven experience acting as an AI enabler, helping translate emerging AI capabilities into practical, scalable solutions within a regulated environment.
  • Background in Risk and Regulatory functions, with a strong understanding of compliance, governance, and control frameworks.
  • Experience working within or alongside central banks, regulators, or related institutions (e.g., WAM or similar financial/monetary authorities), with insight into supervisory expectations and policy-driven environments.
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to network effectively within large organisations and build relationships with individuals and clients.
  • Ability to contribute to new business development by highlighting potential opportunities for new engagements and responding to tenders.

 

Ideally, you will also have

  • We are looking for individuals from varied backgrounds, but it would be advantageous for you to have many of the experiences below:
  • Exposure to corporate reporting and/or regulatory reporting on ESG issues.
  • Experience of reviewing the disclosure of ESG performance information, and a strong understanding of how investors and analysts review and use ESG information to inform decision making.
  • Understanding of key sustainability issues and trends and how they link to business value.
  • Working on complex projects that require knowledge of business strategy, sustainability strategy and operations.
  • A deep understanding of the links between climate change, business risk and value creation.
  • Exposure to finance, strategy and communications functions at corporate institutions – e.g. strategy, policy, procedures and controls, or an understanding of the policies, procedures and controls needed to support non-financial reporting.
  • Advising clients on insights and strategies related to long-term value, inclusive growth and/ or corporate strategies.
  • Experience in financial or non-financial data analytics and modelling capabilities.
  • Working and effectively communicating with team members with different technical backgrounds.
  • Development of other team members by sharing knowledge and informal coaching.
  • Prior consulting or industry experience is an advantage.
  • Relevant professional qualifications in sustainability, climate change, environmental science, or other areas of relevance.
