Your key responsibilities

As a Manager within our Business Design Team, you will be part of a solid team of like-minded people with extensive industry experience and a focus on a positive culture, high-quality work, and building a better working world for us and our clients - A strong handle on problem-solving, client relationship-building, and confidence is key here.  

 

Within Business Transformation Design, you'll work as part of a high-performing team of problem solvers with extensive consulting and industry experience, helping client organisations solve their complex business issues from strategy to execution. On a typical day, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Utilise your skills in the areas of structured problem solving, business analysis, analytics, design thinking, and lean process improvement to help our clients drive profitability and performance improvement through their business operations.
  • Identify areas for process improvement across existing ways of working be it system, process, or people changes.
  • Effectively analyse and define business requirements through stakeholder engagement and reviewing existing processes.
  • Manage people and project teams & engage directly with senior client stakeholders to drive business outcomes, including the facilitation of client interviews, workshops, and project governance sessions.
  • Be involved in projects across the end-to-end project lifecycle, from business case development to project execution and close-out.
  • Help ensure that the requirements and the process are fit for purpose, supporting the design, build, and test of the changes and business readiness/training activities.
  • Draw on EY’s unique capabilities in Digital, Process Excellence, Business Analyst, and experience from our global consulting network.
  • Work with a global team of experts to develop unique, innovative, and game-changing solutions as well as benefitting from best-in-class operations-focused training.

Skills and attributes for success

  • Strong understanding of core business operations gained through delivery of projects across areas such as strategy, operating model design, lean process improvement, waterfall and agile design transformation and delivery
  • Exceptional problem-solving ability including logical reasoning, creative thinking and the ability to untangle complex issues
  • Exceptional quantitative, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • A solid team player who’s also an independent thinker
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and manage more junior consultants
  • Deadline-driven, highly organised and able to multitask

Ideally, you will also have

  • Strong academic record with a relevant third-level degree
  • Experience in applying best practice Business and Process Analysis techniques.
  • Strong numeric analysis, presentation, Process Mapping, and requirement-gathering skills
  • Proven Microsoft Office experience
  • Experience in applying Agile and/or Waterfall methodologies.
  • Agile design experience/ certification, preferred.
  • 4-5+ Years Management Consulting experience a benefit.
  • Lean six sigma and/or BCS training/certification an advantage.
  • Experience leading teams.
