The opportunity

 

Having the largest geographical footprint in the MENA region, EY is perfectly placed to help the multitude of government entities and businesses change their accounting standards to the latest IPSAS standards. We’re looking for a Manager / Senior Manager to help drive and support this change while learning about the intricacies of dealing with diverse clients in a challenging yet rewarding environment.

 

Your key responsibilities

 

As a Manager / Senior Manager you’ll be responsible for managing transformation projects, with specific on finance process and cash to accrual transitions.  You will collaborate with the partner and client to determine a FAAS strategy that appropriately addresses risk and manages client expectations relating to deliverables.

You'll make a technical contribution to clients in a lead role in both financial and non- financial service sectors. You'll actively establish, maintain and strengthen internal and external relationships, execute complex assurance procedures, supervise junior team members and help define strategy. Working under the supervision of an assurance manager and senior manager, you'll also help execute our work and present findings to the client.

 

With a clear focus on anticipating and identifying risks, you'll escalate issues as appropriate. Working closely with colleagues, you'll determine whether the work plan is properly executed, documented and concluded in compliance with our Quality & Risk Management (Q&RM) guidelines. As an influential member of the team, you'll help to create a positive learning culture, will coach and counsel junior team members and help them to develop.

To qualify for the role you must have

 

  • Minimum 6+ years of work experience with a consulting firm with finance process transformation background
  • Experience working with government entities across MENA
  • Professional certifications such as IFRS 9 and IPSAS methodologies
  • management experience including leading teams, delegation, mentoring, performance reviews and counselling employees
  • Strong written and verbal communication, presentation, client service and technical writing skills, in both English and Arabic
  • Ability and comfort level in researching client inquires and emerging issues, including regulations, industry practices and new technologies
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel on short notice, as necessary

 

Ideally you’ll also have

 

  • Track record with a leading consulting firm
  • Proficient in the Arabic language
