Major Projects Lead – OT Cybersecurity

As a key member of the OT Cyber Technology Consulting team, you will lead cybersecurity governance, assurance, and integration across major industrial projects. You will collaborate with OT Security, Automation, PMO, Supply Chain, and engineering contractors to ensure cybersecurity requirements are embedded throughout the full project lifecycle—from feasibility and concept studies to execution, FAT/SAT, commissioning, and final handover.

This role requires strong leadership, deep expertise in OT/ICS cybersecurity, and a solid understanding of complex capital project environments across sectors such as oil & gas, utilities, manufacturing, and industrial operations.

The Opportunity

We’re seeking a Major Projects Lead with hands-on experience securing large industrial programs. You will shape OT cybersecurity governance models, influence architectural decisions, and elevate cybersecurity maturity across multi‑year, multi‑stakeholder transformations.

You will engage with senior stakeholders, lead governance activities, oversee secure-by-design integration, and ensure all cybersecurity requirements, controls, and testing are delivered to international standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end‑to‑end governance of OT cybersecurity across major projects, including stage‑gate controls and assurance activities.
  • Define, maintain, and oversee implementation of OT cybersecurity requirements and technical controls.
  • Review and approve OT architecture designs (e.g., network segmentation, demarcation, firewalls, data diodes, IDS/ATP, secure access).
  • Coordinate cybersecurity integration across feasibility, FEED, execution, FAT/SAT, commissioning, and handover stages.
  • Lead OT cybersecurity risk assessments and manage project risk registers.
  • Oversee contractor compliance with cybersecurity requirements and assurance obligations.
  • Conduct readiness reviews, audits, site walkdowns, and configuration inspections.
  • Oversee FAT/SAT cybersecurity testing, acceptance criteria, and risk acceptance.
  • Work with project managers, automation teams, procurement, and legal to embed cybersecurity into contracts and scopes of work.
  • Develop dashboards, reports, steering committee updates, and executive briefings.
  • Deliver stakeholder training, awareness, and capability-building sessions.
  • Prepare high‑quality deliverables articulating risk, impact, and recommendations.
  • Identify opportunities for additional value and contribute to account growth.

Skills and Attributes for Success

  • Strong knowledge of OT Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) for large industrial projects.
  • Experience applying cybersecurity frameworks in multi‑year capital or modernization programs.
  • Ability to collaborate across engineering, project management, automation, supply chain, and cyber teams.
  • Excellent senior‑level communication and presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple workstreams and drive delivery.
  • Understanding of OT administration, automation concepts, ICS protocols, and security technologies.
  • Familiarity with OT security standards such as IEC 62443, NIST SP 800‑82, ISO 27001/27019, and NIST‑CSF.
  • Understanding of MITRE ATT&CK for ICS.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, cybersecurity, computer science, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of OT/ICS cybersecurity experience with exposure to major capital or EPCC projects.
  • Experience leading cybersecurity assurance for industrial environments.
  • Certifications such as GICSP or IEC 62443 (any level).
  • Strong stakeholder management and cross‑functional collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience designing, commissioning, or maintaining OT/ICS systems (e.g., DCS, SCADA, SIS, EMS).
  • Knowledge of industrial protocols such as Modbus TCP, OPC‑UA, Profibus, HART, etc.
  • Experience with OT network architecture reviews, secure configuration, and threat modelling.
  • Experience in TPRM, supplier assurance, or operational/enterprise risk management.
  • Background in FEED/EPCC frameworks or large‑scale industrial modernization programs.

What We Offer

  • Competitive compensation and performance‑based rewards.
  • Continuous learning and development in world‑class OT/ICS cybersecurity.
  • Opportunities to shape major industrial programs and influence key decisions.
  • A diverse, inclusive, and collaborative culture where your contributions matter.
