We are looking for a Senior Consultant to join our Global Trade team. We integrate customs advisory, global trade management systems and cross-border trade solutions. We offer support and advice on customs, international trade policy & compliance, excise and energy taxation, and sustainability topics.
Our focus is on both tax & legal compliance as well as on cost reduction strategies but also seeking operational efficiencies and improving working capital. Our clients are situated in all industries, public administrations and non-profit organizations.
In our team we have people with a legal and/or an economic background; also commercial engineers considering the nature of our work, bringing together supply chain, operational, tax and financial experience.
Your key responsibilities
- You will assist and advise clients regarding customs, import & export matters.
- You will help clients to operate more effectively in moving goods around the world by developing and implementing strategies to manage duty cost by utilizing free trade agreements, special programs, and transactional structuring.
- You will work on Operational Model Effectiveness projects, which may for example include reshaping the organization and underlying processes in order to create tax and supply chain efficiencies.
- You will support companies with local and foreign investments whereby we aim to make the international product flows (raw & pack, (semi-)finished product) cost effective and avoid operational issues at borders, re-assuring compliance with tax & legal provisions.
- You will work project based for large corporations as well as SME’s, possibly including travel, with a focus on compliance but also achieving cost effectiveness and efficiencies.
- You will be responsible for handling a varied portfolio of client assignments, participating in client meetings, and developing your relationships with your clients.
- You will be identifying areas where tax & legal technical expertise is required and recommending appropriate solutions to your manager.
- You will be integrated within a young and dynamic department, building up a network of relationships with colleagues in your office and other countries.
Your profile
- You have a university degree in a business-related discipline, ideally in law, commercial engineer or economics.
- You have minimum 2 years of experience in the domain of customs / global trade (customs & excise, trade policy and/or trade compliance).
- You are able to communicate fluently in English and Dutch, knowledge of French or any other European language is a clear asset.
- You are a team player with excellent communication skills, you have the mindset of an entrepreneur.
- You are a motivated learner, eager to explore new challenges.
- You have an open, enthusiastic and flexible mindset, looking for opportunities to exceed expectations and take ownership of projects assigned to you.
- Data analytics, IT skills are a plus.
- Understanding of SAP and/or other ERP environments is welcome.
