The opportunity 

For our CFO Consulting team, we are looking for experienced professionals, excited about growing their careers through assisting clients in transforming the finance function through process optimization, target operating model design and implementation of finance systems, but also with more innovative topics such as the use of predictive analytics in support of business planning and the use of interactive dashboarding to enhance management reporting. By performing  end-to-end support and transformations and cultivating EY talent, we play a key role in building the future of finance. In this job, you will thus be in the front row to delivering projects that address the CFO’s most significant challenges. 

Your key responsibilities 

As a Senior Consultant, you will collaborate with our clients to understand the challenges that face their business and help implement a tailored solution. You will also contribute to the development of the competence team and EY as a whole. 

You will serve key banking and insurance clients, supporting them to respond to stakeholders’ expectations with respect to providing strategic business insights, delivering dynamic management reporting and improve efficiency of the finance operations. You will have the opportunity to make a real difference within EY CFO Consulting during a time of exciting growth and help build trust in a changing economic and regulatory environment.  

Some examples of how you will drive our client’s finance department to the next level:
 •    Designing the target finance operating model 
•    Improving the closing, consolidation and reporting cycle through technology
•    Enhancing the decision making process by optimizing the budgeting and forecasting processes
•    Supporting in the implementation of finance tools (accounting, controlling, reporting and visualization tools)
•    Making the change happen in the finance teams by designing and monitoring transition roadmaps

Skills and attributes for success 

•    Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g. applied economics, commercial engineer) or equivalent through experience.
•    Between 1 and 4 years of relevant experience, in a finance environment, as team member, financial auditor or consultant
•    Knowledge of accounting & reporting in financial services is a plus
•    Strong analytical skills with an eye for detail
•    Solid communication and presentation skills, both written and oral
•    Ability to translate complex topics into clear, comprehensible communication to a broad audience
•    Proficient level of business English and fluent in Dutch/French
•    Positive and entrepreneurial spirit
•    A can-do mentality
•    Loving the challenge to connect with different people in an organization (from expert to CFO)
•    Combining a passion for figures with recognizing the importance of a good team spirit
