You'll be supporting our EY Belgium management team in managing our comprehensive strategy (embedding ESG into our overall strategy) from inception to execution, seamlessly blending the roles of a strategist and a hands-on implementer. In this respect, you will receive support from different service lines such as Facilities for suppliers’ relationships, Climate Change and Sustainability Services (CCaSS) for Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) or Science-Based Targets (SBT), Human Resources  for all our people initiatives, and Strategy and Transactions for strategic advice.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Drafting the annual sustainability report. This includes compiling and analyzing relevant data, ensuring that reporting is in line with the CSRD and ESRS, and communicating results to both internal and external stakeholders;
• Leading as the internal consultant our sustainability initiatives. Interacting, guiding and advising our Service Lines  on how to integrate sustainability into their everyday activities;
• Documenting with the assistance of sustainability services teams, our double materiality exercise;
• Developing and implementing a comprehensive sustainability strategy and identifying and assessing EY’s impact on the environment and on people (social), and then outlining a plan to improve these areas;
• Facilitating in setting clear sustainability objectives and key performance indicators (“KPIs”) to measure progress and impact;
• Engaging with external stakeholders, and to ensure stakeholders are informed about our efforts, get their feedback, and coordinate collaboration on sustainability issues. In this respect, ensuring compliance with requested questionnaires
• Identifying and promoting innovations that boost our sustainability efforts in field of reduction of energy consumption, minimize waste, the development of new, more sustainable products or services:
• Keeping up to date with new trends and regulations, and continuously update and improve the sustainability strategy accordingly;
• Managing the sustainability budget, tracking expenses and demonstrating the financial benefits and added value (short-term, medium-term, and long-term) of our various ESG initiatives;
• Representing EY Belgium in the EY Global sustainability network;
• Reporting directly to the EY Belgium Country Managing Partner via a monthly ESG Dashboard.

Your Profile

You have:

• You preferably have a master’s degree and/or additional qualifications in environmental science, sustainability, business administration, internal audit, supply chain, consulting, business engineering, or another related field or you have the required relevant equivalent expertise;
• You have at least 8 years of professional experience in relevant fields;
• You have a passion for sustainability and its integration in business processes and decision-making;
• You have excellent project management skills; 
• You can motivate and steer teams;
• You have in-depth IT and Technical Skills;
• You have good diplomatic and social skills and enjoy building relationships with stakeholders.
• You are a team player and possess a high level of integrity;
• You are proficient in English, and fluent in Dutch and/or French.
