Climate Change and Decarbonization Expert

In response to this, we are looking for a highly organized, proactive, and enthusiastic candidate to join our growing team helping clients as a Climate Change and Decarbonization Expert. 

This role will place you at the heart of a high-performing, dynamic, agile EY Climate Change and Sustainability Services (CCaSS) team, part of a global network of 3,000 experts in sustainability worldwide that is committed to helping clients build long-term value. You will have many different responsibilities.

The job:

As a Climate Change and Decarbonization Expert, you will focus on the development of our climate change and decarbonization offerings to clients in different sectors.  You will advise organizations on GHG emissions calculations and opportunities to reduce these emissions,  You will develop decarbonization roadmaps and strategies, establish Science-Based Targets (SBTs), translate climate change ambitions into tangible actions and KPIs, and audit climate-related disclosures.

In addition, you will also bring your expertise in terms of climate risk modeling and recommendations for climate change mitigation and adaptation and will support companies in their EU Taxonomy assessments related to these topics. 

This opportunity will enable you to work with leading organizations and interact with EY colleagues globally.  Our CCaSS team in Belgium has specific expertise in ESG strategy, audit, and reporting; circular economy, packaging, and, decarbonization.  There will also be ample opportunity- to work across different areas within the wider team.

Your background:

You have:

• 4 - 8 years of technical experience;

• Full proficiency in MS Office (word, excel, PowerPoint);

• Working and effectively communicating with team members with different technical backgrounds;

• Development of other team members by sharing knowledge, delegating work, and (in)formal coaching and counseling;

• A Master's degree in a relevant discipline, for example, engineering, packaging, sustainable development, environmental science, etc.

• Understanding of key sustainability issues and trends and how they link to business value;

• Full working proficiency in English, Dutch, and/or French both in writing and speaking;

• Prior consulting or high-impact industry experience is definitely an asset.
