AI Project Manager - Financial Services

The opportunity

Our AI team, based in Belgium, supports clients across various business sectors, with a focus on Financial Services - including banking, capital markets, insurance, wealth and asset management - helping them embrace AI at scale and achieve tangible results while transforming their approach to the future. 

We are currently looking for a talented and motivated AI Project Manager to join our team.

Your key responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of AI initiatives for Financial Services clients – from discovery and business case, through build and testing, to production rollout and hypercare – ensuring scope, schedule, budget and quality are met.
• Establish and run robust delivery governance (RAID, KPIs/OKRs, stage gates, value tracking), with clear decision forums and reporting to senior stakeholders (CIO/COO, Heads of Data/Compliance).
• Orchestrate multi‑disciplinary squads (AI engineers, solution architects, data engineers, product owners, designers, risk & compliance) and third parties, ensuring alignment and effective collaboration.
• Drive adoption of secure SDLC and MLOps/LLMOps practices across teams (branching strategy, environments, CI/CD, testing strategy, documentation, runbooks).
• Ensure Responsible AI and regulatory compliance (AI Act readiness, GDPR, DORA, model risk management) in partnership with Risk, Legal, Security and Model Validation, and maintain audit‑ready documentation.
• Plan and execute change management and enablement (training, communications, business readiness), maximizing user adoption and value realization.
• Own the program backlog and roadmap; facilitate discovery, prioritization and sequencing of use cases; manage dependencies and critical paths across streams.
• Support business development: contribute to proposals, estimations, statements of work, and case studies; represent EY in client meetings as a trusted delivery lead.

Skills and attributes for success

• 4+ years of experience leading complex technology programs, including managing AI/ML initiatives in Financial Services.
• Proven command of Agile/Scaled Agile and hybrid delivery models; expert in backlog management, story mapping, and sprint/PI planning using Jira or Azure DevOps.
• Good understanding of AI solution building blocks (LLMs, RAG, agents, vector databases, model evaluation & monitoring) and cloud data platforms (Azure, Databricks, Snowflake).
• Fluency in delivery risk management and value realization (benefits tracking, OKRs, ROI).
• Familiarity with Responsible AI frameworks and model governance (NIST AI RMF, ISO/IEC 42001) and with EU regulatory context (AI Act, GDPR, DORA).
• Fluent in Dutch or French and a business proficiency in English.

• Professional certifications such as PMP/Prince2, SAFe (LPM/RTE), Scrum, or Azure Fundamentals/AI Engineer.
• Hands‑on experience establishing AI delivery playbooks and operating models in a regulated FS environment.
• Track record delivering multi‑vendor programs > €2M budget and coordinating nearshore/onsite teams.
