Within SaT, the EY Valuation, Modeling and Economics (VME) team is looking for a talented valuation and corporate finance (senior) manager to combine valuation and corporate finance experience with advanced decision support capabilities and analytics to help clients’ management teams drive sustainable value for all stakeholders. Strategic planning and transactions are critical moments for companies, and we guide them through valuation and business modeling implications to better understand the impact on their business.
We are looking for colleagues to join us in Diegem as their home office. You will be working with corporates, public entities and private equity funds.
Your key responsibilities
- You will give valuation advise to a broad variety of clients (ranging from family-owned business, private equity funds to multinationals) in different sectors on financial and strategic topics related to value. Our valuation and modelling advice is both transactional and non-transactional. On the transactional side you will deliver analyses in the context of mergers, acquisitions, splits, joint-ventures, disposals, management buy-outs, IPOs, etc. On the non-transactional side, we perform and review valuations in the context of impairment testing, purchase price allocation, tax valuation, dispute valuations. The types of valuations range from typical equity valuation to intangible valuation, complex securities and management incentive plans.
- You will support decision making by financial modelling operational and financial impact of key decisions:
- Strategic decisions (examples: new product launch, entering a new market, spin-off/carve-out, opening new branches, etc.)
- Good knowledge of project and structured finance, financial modelling and valuation techniques.
- M&A process (examples: valuation, complex business plans, etc.)
- Fundraising (examples: use cases for startups, equity story, etc.)
- You will manage projects from begin-to-end. You will support partners and directors in business development, proposal writing and project pricing. You will be responsible for day-to-day project management with a team of consultants.
- Preparing presentations to the management of the client to deliver the results of our work. Strategic planning and transactions are critical moments for companies, this entails frequent direct interaction with a company’s most senior executives.
- Support junior team members with their skill and career development. Providing coaching to others, share your technical and other knowledge with your team and the department and draw upon previous experience.
- Collaborate across business units and functions
To qualify for the role you must have
- Minimum of five years of professional experience in corporate finance (inhouse corporate and/or advisory)
- Experience with financial modelling, valuation techniques and financial analysis presentation
- Experience with managing advisory and consulting projects, directing junior team members.
- Strong communications skills and time management
- Master’s degree in a relevant discipline such as economics, finance or commercial engineering
Ideally, you’ll also have
- High motivation and passion for quantifying complex environments and a demonstrated capacity to deal with ambiguity and overcome challenges.
- Strong technical, quantitative and analytical skills.
- Ability to work autonomously within set objectives in a dynamic team, while being at ease with multitasking in a fast-paced and environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, in English and in Dutch or French, ideally both.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- The ability to understand underlying forces and what motivates clients and their stakeholders. You understand the importance of the human factor in strategy execution.
