Our Global Payroll Operate practice focuses on helping our clients effectively manage their global payroll needs proactively and responsibly in 157+ countries. Our quality service and technical network enable you to help clients reduce inefficiencies, mitigate risk and drive process improvement within their payroll functions. We believe that by managing clients’ payroll obligations, we can make a critical difference, and you’ll be at the heart of this mission.Our market-leading approach combines extensive local payroll service experience with a standard global payroll compliance and implementation methodology, as well as next gen technology and data analytics functionalities. With engagements involving a few countries or many, you will have the opportunity to provide clients an integrated, consistent, quality service that unlocks the potential of the payroll function across the entire process.

 

Your key responsibilities

As a Manager in Payroll Operate, you will oversee the servicing of multi-country payroll operate (MCPO) services and help lead new sales and opportunities. Governance of payroll operations is key, and you will lead the global country teams utilizing one global methodology to track the end-to-end process and provide subsidiary governance throughout our client life cycle to mitigate risk, increase corporate transparency, increase compliance, achieve the leveraging of key data insights and providing clients with additional product offerings. Capabilities include:

  • Leading engagement manager for mid-sized and large clients
  • Manage global MCPO delivery for multiple clients
  • Develop a strategic and client centric relationships with key stakeholders
  • Manage end to end client conversations and ask/refer to senior team members for guidance
  • Know and utilize global methodology payroll leading practices
  • Be involved in thought leadership development 
  • Provide/drive innovation and continuous improvement
  • Leverage Global Payroll Operate tools, technology, methodology and processes

 

 

Skills and attributes for success

  • Governance of payroll operations: lead the team utilizing one global methodology to track the end-to-end process and provide subsidiary governance throughout our client life cycle to mitigate risk, increase corporate transparency, increase compliance and achieve leveraging of key data insights
  • Managing, coaching and developing a team of senior and staff professionals
  • Ability to implement centrally managed global outsourcing model, leveraging global payroll tools to provide clients with greater control, visibility and compliance for their global payroll operations

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • Bachelor’s degree and relevant post-graduate qualification, preferably with an emphasis in Accounting, Business or Finance
  • Six or more years of relevant payroll and/or tax experience or equivalent experience in business or industry
  • Global payroll consulting experience, knowledge of technology vendors, such as PeopleSoft/Oracle, SAP, Workday, and other technology solutions, including reports, strategies, assessments, vendor selections, designing processes considering risk and implementing solutions worldwide
  • Strong numbers acumen, including analytical abilities and knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint and PowerBi
  • Excellent managerial, organizational and verbal/written communication skills with a proactive approach to problem solving and attention to detail
  • Client-facing exposure in a global role
  • Understanding of the different payroll models in the market
  • Project management experience with global or multinational payroll projects

 

For this position, one of the following certificates/degrees is required

  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP qualification from the Society for Human Resource Management®
  • Professional in Human Resources, Senior Professional in Human Resources or Global Professional in Human Resources qualification from the HR Certification Institute®
  • Certified Payroll Professional designation offered by the American Payroll Association
  • Project Management Professional (PMP)® from the Project Management Institute (PMI) or Lean Six Sigma Green Belt
  • Master's degree in business administration
  • EY Tech MBA

What we offer
 
We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $86,600 to $158,800. The salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $103,900 to $180,300. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options. Join us in our team-led and leader-enabled hybrid model. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year. Under our flexible vacation policy, you’ll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances.
