FAAS-Managed Services - SEC Reporting

The Opportunity

EY is seeking a Senior Manager with strong SEC reporting and technical accounting expertise to join our Financial Accounting Advisory Services (FAAS) / Managed Services team. In this role, you will support both public and pre-IPO clients in managing complex financial reporting requirements, with a particular focus on SEC filings and disclosure processes.

This role combines technical depth in U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations with leadership responsibilities across client engagements and delivery teams.  You’ll also play a key role in shaping how we modernize and automate the reporting processes using leading finance technologies for our managed services clients

• Lead SEC reporting and technical accounting engagements for public and private clients, ensuring high-quality and timely delivery.
• Oversee the preparation and review of SEC filings, including 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, proxy statements, and earnings release disclosures.
• Manage end-to-end filing calendars and coordinate cross-functional reviews with finance, legal, investor relations, and external auditors.
• Assess complex U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements, including interpretation of new accounting standards.
• Prepare and review technical accounting memos related to reporting concepts and guidance.
• Support improvements in financial reporting processes, including close, disclosure controls, and governance frameworks.
• Identify and implement opportunities for automation and efficiency using tools such as Workiva, BlackLine, Alteryx, and Power BI.

Skills and Attributes for Success

• Strong expertise in SEC reporting and U.S. GAAP financial reporting standards.
• Proven ability to manage multiple client engagements and deliver high-quality outcomes under deadlines.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex accounting issues in a clear and practical way.
• Experience working with cross-functional stakeholders, including finance, legal, auditors, and executive leadership.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to lead, mentor, and develop high-performing teams.
• Experience improving reporting processes and identifying automation opportunities.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
• Active CPA license in your work state
• At least 6+ years of experience in SEC reporting, financial reporting, or technical accounting.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations.
• Experience managing multiple projects or client engagements.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Ideally, you’ll also have

• Experience supporting public company reporting functions.
• Experience working with executive leadership, audit committees, or external auditors.
• Experience using reporting platforms such as Workiva or DFIN.
• Familiarity with finance transformation, automation, or digital reporting tools.

• We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business.  The base salary range for this job is: 
• • New York City, Boston, and Washington DC Metro Areas, Washington State, and Southern California offices – $176,000 to $365,500
  • Bay Area California offices – $183,400 to $380,800
  • All other offices locations in the US, including Sacramento – $146,700 to $335,100
• Individual salaries within these ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography.  In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
