US - Tax – Americas Tax Technology Group – Solutions Delivery Leader – Senior Manager

The opportunity
As part of our Americas Tax Technology Group (ATTG) you will be part of a technology organization that develops and maintains innovative solutions for our Clients and EY Tax professionals. ATTG professionals will partner with our Tax professionals to develop supporting technology such as digital/mobile tools to improve internal operations, application of Robotics Process Automation (RPA) to collect financial data, development of advanced financial dashboards, visualization, analytics, and reports.
The Solution Delivery Lead role is in the Solution Delivery pillar. The main function of this pillar is to develop, and test solutions created to support the Americas Tax Practice.
Your key responsibilities
- Oversee the team to ensure software engineering principles are applied to the design, development, maintenance, testing, and evaluation of software and systems that meet business objectives across a broad portfolio of products and product lines.
- Contribute to the strategic, financial, and operational direction of the Application Engineering function.
- Work closely with the BTL and Product Management to define and execute the product and portfolio roadmap through the appropriate stages of the product life cycle.
- Lead the execution of the technology strategy within the portfolio, including AI (generative AI, agentic workflows, and AI-assisted development), cloud architecture, data platforms, and other emerging technology domains.
- Assess current departmental capability and maturity, and develop a continuous-improvement roadmap, including metrics and KPIs to measure team performance.
- Embrace and embed cutting-edge development accelerators, such as AI development tools and platforms, generative AI coding assistants (e.g., GitHub Copilot and Microsoft Copilot), AI-native and spec-driven development platforms, and agentic workflow orchestration tools, to accelerate the software development life cycle.
- Develop and adopt formal development methods and tools to govern and control programs, defining and leveraging firm standards.
- Conduct ongoing market analysis to identify leading practices.
- Forecast resource needs (people, hosting, and licensing) required to deliver the product roadmap for the portfolio.
- Own and optimize team composition across product teams in the portfolio to ensure alignment with business strategy and the roadmap.
- Build relationships at all levels.
- Identify, manage, and resolve complex issues, preventing escalations where possible.
- Think strategically and identify opportunities for optimization, including reuse and process improvements.
- Manage vendor relationships, which may include hardware, software, and third-party service providers.

- Expert knowledge of software development methodologies, including Agile and prescriptive approaches.
- Advanced knowledge of technology strategy and roadmap definition.
- Advanced knowledge of resource planning, project management, business analysis, and software testing disciplines.
- Knowledge of the relevant business domain.
- Ability to convert business and technical requirements into appropriate solutions.
- Experience working with .NET, SQL, Java, and responsive web design.
- Knowledge of how to work with supporting teams, such as infrastructure, operations, enterprise architecture, and information security.
- Technical skills: Expertise in large-scale systems, .NET, Azure, microservices, APIs, and responsive UI development.
- Working knowledge of generative AI and large language model (LLM) technologies, including AI-assisted development tools, agentic workflows, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), AI governance, and responsible AI practices.
- Data and cloud: Experience with data pipelines, Snowflake, Databricks, Azure Data Factory, and data governance tools such as Collibra and Informatica.
- Agile and DevOps: Proven leadership in Agile/Lean environments, with hands-on experience in CI/CD, automation, and infrastructure-as-code.
To qualify for the role, you must have
- A bachelor's degree (computer science, engineering, accounting, finance preferred) or equivalent work experience.
- Master's degree preferred
- 10-15 years of relevant experience
- Approved technical certification is required
- Experience leading management level members is required
- Experience leading teams of 30+ people in developing Management experience a plus
- Provide supervision and direction to team members and staff.
- Delegate work, coach, coordinate, and lead co-workers and project team members.
- Lead a functional team with responsibility for utilization, assignments, and reporting to a pillar leader.
- Set training and performance standards for the functional team.
- Directly supervise personnel, including setting goals, assigning work, reviewing performance, and conducting career-development discussions.
- Occasional overnight travel may be required
Ideally, you’ll have
- Ability to understand and learn tax and technology implications at a high level
- Excellent organizational and project management skills as well as the ability to multitask on various projects in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work and team effectively with clients and high-level leadership personnel as well as influence all team members.

- We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $101,700 to $294,800. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $122,000 to $335,100. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
