Climate Change and Sustainability Service (CCaSS) is a practice within EY dedicated to building a better working world by helping businesses respond to societal, environmental and economic challenges resulting from shifting market demands and the changing economic and regulatory environment. Our team helps clients in understanding and assessing the wider impact and outcomes associated with their organizations, activities, programs, projects and overall sustainability reporting in accordance with new regulations.
The Opportunity
As a Trainee Analyst / Analyst / Senior Analyst in Climate Change and Sustainability Service, you will spend most of your time in assisting clients to identify, measure, and manage their business and reporting risks as they transit their organizations in respond to changing government environmental regulations and new trends in sustainability management and reporting. You will be assisting in providing Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) expertise to deliver different ESG related services, ESG due diligence and value creation projects for our clients. You will also work on educating clients on the new regulatory requirements related to ESG, GRI, IR, SASB, SLFRS S1 & S2 Standards and support them in the non-fi nancial reporting process.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
• Work as part of a multidisciplinary team across a range of industries, assisting organisations on how they manage and report on a broad range of sustainability and climate related risks and impacts
• Contribute to strategy, solutions, methodologies, analytical frameworks and tools to help clients succeed and navigate complex regulatory environments and manage stakeholder expectations
• Assist clients to develop and implement sustainability strategies, develop targets, and implement plans to enhance sustainability value for a broad range of sustainability topics, including diversity, waste, and environmental impacts
• Assist clients with implementation of non-fi nancial reporting process, including application of GRI, IR, SASB, SLFRS and KPI calculations
• Assurance of non-fi nancial reporting, including sustainability metrics across a range of industry sectors.
• Conduct Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Scope 1,2 & 3 Reporting and Assurance Engagements according to the Greenhouse Gas Protocol and other relevant standards and frameworks.
• Conduct Gap Analysis, Materiality and Stakeholder assessments and ESG Due Diligence and Impact Assessments
To qualify for the role you must have
• A degree, preferably in fi nance, accounting, environmental management, sustainability or professional qualifi cation in the same field
• Knowledge and interest in sustainability related areas or topics
• Strong technical, quantitative, project management and analytical skills
• Excellent verbal/written communication skills
Ideally, you'll also have
• Professional presence with the ability to engage management level clients as well as internal leadership stakeholders
• Ability to analyze complex or unusual issues in the context of client engagements and deliver insightful and pragmatic solutions
