Our Strategy and Transaction (SaT) team works with clients to manage their capital agenda to drive competitive advantage and increased returns. As part of a global team of 10,000 professionals in 100 countries, you will advise clients on preserving, optimising, raising, or investing capital. Competencies within SaT include Mergers and Acquisition Services, Restructuring Services, Operational Transaction Services, Transaction Diligence, Transaction Tax, Strategy, Economic Advisory, and Valuation and Business Modelling.

Your key responsibilities

  • Perform industry and company research utilising online tools and publicly available information
  • Analyse the financial and operational results of companies targeted by reviewing accounting records and participating in interviews with management
  • Prepare analyses of historical and pro forma financial information to assess trends and fluctuations that may impact cash flow requirements and deal valuation
  • Deliver financial modelling engagements for strategic planning, capital allocation, transaction support, investment appraisal, financial planning, and reporting purposes
  • Perform buy and sell side due diligence to assist transactions
  • Perform business valuation for transaction and financial reporting purposes
  • Work effectively as a team member by demonstrating your commitment to quality, sharing responsibility, providing support, maintaining communication, and updating senior team members on progress
  • Assist in researching technical accounting issues to evaluate implications on transaction valuation and structuring
  • Assist in preparing reports and schedules that will be delivered to clients and other parties
  • Develop and maintain productive working relationships with client personnel

 

To qualify for the role you must have

  • A bachelor's degree majoring in Accounting, Business, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, or other financial related background and/or equivalent professional qualification [CA/CIMA/ACCA/CFA] with demonstrated aptitude in quantitative and qualitative analysis.
  • Minimum of 2 to 3 years of work experience in a similar industry. Prior experience in capital markets, transactions, professional audit would be advantageous.
  • Strong analytical skills, able to analyse financial and non-financial information to formulate views and conclusions.
  • Working knowledge on accounting concepts and principles including IFRS/SLFRS.
  • Sound commercial judgment and an ability to generate creative solutions to problems.
  • A passion to provide high quality service to your clients.
  • Strong presentation and report writing skills.
  • Microsoft (MS) Office proficiency including MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint.
