The Opportunity
Our objective is to help clients leverage SAP technology to transform and optimize sales performance, incentive compensation, and revenue operations. We are seeking an experienced SAP Sales Performance Management (SPM) Manager with expertise in leading SPM transformation initiatives, incentive compensation programs, and enterprise technology implementations.
As a Project Manager in Sales Performance Management (SPM), you will lead large-scale SPM transformation initiatives. This role requires a strong techno-functional leader with expertise in business requirements gathering, project management, and enterprise delivery across global teams, along with functional knowledge of SAP SPM and related incentive compensation solutions.
Your key responsibilities
In this role, you will lead the technical design and architecture of SPM platforms, ensuring alignment with business goals and scalability across enterprise environments. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and global delivery centers to deliver high-quality solutions. Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading end-to-end delivery of SAP SPM programs across planning, execution, deployment, and stabilization phases.
- Managing global onshore and offshore teams while driving program governance, risk management, and executive reporting.
- Gathering business requirements, facilitating workshops, conducting fit-gap analyses, and defining solution roadmaps.
- Translating business needs into functional and technical specifications.
- Overseeing SAP SPM implementations, integrations, enhancements, and data migration activities.
- Defining and managing testing strategies, user acceptance testing (UAT), defect management, and deployment readiness.
- Engaging senior business and technology stakeholders to drive alignment and decision-making.
- Supporting innovation initiatives, including AI-driven analytics, automation, and process optimization.
- Partnering with sales operations, finance, and business stakeholders to align incentive compensation and sales performance requirements with enterprise objectives.
- Ensuring adherence to SAP best practices, Clean Core principles, and implementation methodologies.
- Driving quality, risk management, and delivery excellence throughout the program lifecycle.
Skills and attributes for success
To excel in this role, you'll need a combination of leadership, business process expertise, and technical knowledge. Key skills include:
- Strong communication and client-facing presence, with the ability to lead executive-level discussions.
- Deep understanding of incentive compensation, commission management, sales planning, territory management, quota management, and sales performance management processes.
- Experience leading large-scale SAP transformation programs and cross-functional teams.
- Expertise in business analysis, solution design, integration strategy, and stakeholder management.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms, including SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP), AWS, Azure, and GCP, as well as API-driven integrations.
- Ability to manage global delivery teams and ensure solution quality.
- Commitment to governance, documentation, and leading practices.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making capabilities.
To qualify for the role, you must have:
- A bachelor's degree.
- Typically, no less than 4 to 6 years of experience delivering SAP transformation programs, with at least 4 years in a solution lead, workstream lead, or project leadership capacity.
- Experience leading Sales Performance Management (SPM), Incentive Compensation Management, Commission Management, or Sales Compensation transformation implementations.
- Strong expertise in SAP SPM and/or related SPM platforms such as Varicent, Anaplan, Xactly, or similar solutions.
- Strong consulting, stakeholder management, and client-facing communication skills.
- Experience working in fast-paced environments with cross-functional global teams.
- Familiarity with SAP Best Practices, Clean Core principles, and modern SAP implementation methodologies.
- Strong written and verbal communication, presentation, client service, and technical writing skills.
- Experience managing SAP projects or workstreams and project-based team members.
- A flexibility and willingness to travel to meet client needs; travel is estimated at 40-60%.
Ideally, you’ll also have:
- Prior consulting experience.
- SAP certification(s).
- Experience with at least two full cycle implementations of your core module.
- Experience leading cross-functional and geographically distributed teams.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
- Experience with incentive compensation design, sales operations, or sales planning processes.

- The salary range for this job is:
- New York City, Boston, and Washington DC Metro Areas, Washington State, and Southern California offices – $171,200 to $285,300
- Bay Area California offices – $178,400 to $297,200
- All other offices locations in the US, including Sacramento – $142,600 to $261,500
- Individual salaries within these ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
