At EY, we’re all in to shape your future with confidence.

We’ll help you succeed in a globally connected powerhouse of diverse teams and take your career wherever you want it to go.  Join EY and help to build a better working world.

EY's Forensics Insurance and Federal Claims Services practice specializes in helping clients achieve their financial recovery goals following disaster events such as hurricanes, fires, tornadoes, cyber incidents, and other catastrophic losses. We assist some of the most complex public and private sector entities with insurance recovery, claims preparation, compliance, and financial analysis.

The opportunity

We are seeking an experienced insurance claims professional to join our practice as a Manager. In this role, you will lead complex insurance claims engagements and serve as a trusted advisor to clients navigating significant property, business interruption, cyber, construction, and other commercial insurance losses.

You will work alongside forensic accountants, valuation professionals, attorneys, risk managers, brokers, and insurers to develop and execute claim strategies, manage engagement teams, and support clients through all stages of the claims process. This position offers exposure to some of the largest and most complex claims arising from hurricanes, wildfires, cyber incidents, operational disruptions, construction losses, and other catastrophic events.

Your key responsibilities

In this role, you will manage the analysis, preparation, and presentation of complex commercial insurance claims on behalf of policyholders. You will lead engagement teams responsible for evaluating financial and operational impacts, developing claim methodologies, and preparing claim submissions that withstand insurer scrutiny. You will work directly with clients, brokers, insurers, adjusters, attorneys, engineers, and other stakeholders to drive engagements from initial loss assessment through claim resolution. Responsibilities include overseeing claim strategy, reviewing analyses and deliverables, coordinating responses to carrier information requests, managing engagement economics and timelines, and mentoring team members. This role will leverage your technical insurance claims expertise while providing opportunities to build client relationships, develop junior professionals, and contribute to the continued growth of the practice.

Travel and presence at client sites, along with in-office presence will be required.

  • Coach, mentor, and develop staff and senior team members through active feedback and professional development.
  • Identify opportunities to expand existing client relationships and support business development initiatives.
  • Work effectively across multidisciplinary teams and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Leverage technology and innovation to enhance engagement delivery and team effectiveness.

To qualify for the role you must have

  • A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, risk management, insurance, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in insurance claims, forensic accounting, dispute advisory, consulting, or a related field.
  • Experience managing complex commercial insurance claims or insurance-related consulting engagements.
  • Strong understanding of property damage, business interruption, extra expense, cyber, builder's risk, or other commercial insurance claims.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information to executive-level stakeholders.
  • Proven project management and client relationship management experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • The ability and willingness to travel and work in excess of standard hours when necessary
  • Access to reliable transportation to/from the EY office and client sites. A driver's license is strongly recommended as ride share and public transportation options may not be available in all locations

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Experience working for an insurance carrier, independent adjusting firm, broker, forensic accounting firm, or consulting organization.
