The opportunity
The SAP Ariba Buying & Invoicing Senior Consultant will support the delivery and optimization of SAP Ariba solutions, with a primary focus on Buying & Invoicing and Guided Buying. This role contributes to procurement transformation programs by supporting functional design, configuration, testing, and deployment of SAP Ariba solutions, while working closely with client stakeholders and internal delivery teams.

 

In this role, you will interact with business stakeholders and workstream leaders to evaluate business models, processes, and operations. You will gather, understand, and analyze business requirements and translate them into functional designs and technical specifications. You will also support testing and validation of implemented solutions to ensure they meet business requirements and align with EY leading practices.

 

Your key responsibilities
As a Senior Consultant in Technology Consulting – SAP Procurement, you will be a key contributor to SAP Ariba delivery teams, supporting complex procurement technology initiatives while continuing to deepen your functional and consulting skillset.

You will:

  • Support end‑to‑end delivery of SAP Ariba Buying & Invoicing and Guided Buying implementations, from requirements and design through testing, go‑live, and post‑deployment support
  • Participate in and support client workshops to gather business requirements and document process flows and functional/technical specifications
  • Configure SAP Ariba modules and support integration touchpoints with SAP ECC, S/4HANA, and non-SAP ERPs working in collaboration with technical and integration teams
  • Assist with system, integration, and user acceptance testing, support defect triage and resolution activities
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including procurement, IT, finance, operations, and third‑party vendors
  • Support monitoring of solution adoption and performance, helping identify opportunities for optimization and improved compliance
  • Develop and maintain SAP Ariba documentation, including configuration documentation, test scripts, and user guides
  • Support training and knowledge transfer activities for client stakeholders and internal teams
  • Assist in raising and tracking SAP Ariba service requests when product or configuration issues arise
  • Contribute to EY practice initiatives, including internal assets, delivery accelerators, and proposal/RFP support as needed

 

Skills and attributes for success
To be successful in this role, you will need a strong foundation in SAP Ariba functionality combined with effective communication and collaboration skills. You should be comfortable working as part of a team while taking ownership of assigned tasks and deliverables.

  • Experience supporting SAP Ariba Buying & Invoicing implementations from design through go-live and hypercare
  • Ability to support workshops, gather business requirements, and document process flows and functional specifications
  • Hands-on experience configuring SAP Ariba modules and supporting integration with SAP ECC/S/4HANA and third-party systems
  • Ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams, including IT, finance, operations, and external vendors
  • Ability to self-start and work independently when required
  • Support adoption and performance monitoring of SAP Ariba solutions and assist with continuous improvement initiatives
  • Maintain SAP Ariba documentation and support incorporation of quarterly product releases and enhancements
  • Deliver or support end-user training and knowledge transfer activities
  • Log, track, and support resolution of SAP Ariba service requests and defects
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail

 

 

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • Bachelor’s degree required (4-year degree)
  • Typically, 2 – 5 years of relevant experience implementing or supporting SAP Ariba Buying & Invoicing, Guided Buying, Sourcing, Contracts, SLP, or Supplier Risk.
  • Experience supporting at least one full lifecycle SAP Ariba implementation.
  • Familiarity with waterfall and agile implementation methodologies.
  • Experience working as part of an SAP Ariba delivery team.
  • Strong understanding of procurement best practices and source-to-pay processes.
  • Working knowledge of SAP ECC/S/4HANA integration concepts.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a team-based environment.
  • Exposure to supplier enablement activities and catalog management.
  • Awareness of audit considerations and internal controls related to procurement systems.

 

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • SAP Ariba P2P certification or progress toward certification.
  • Experience supporting complex or multi-track SAP Ariba programs.
  • Experience developing or delivering SAP Ariba training and supporting change management activities.
  • Exposure to emerging technologies, including SAP Joule or AI-enabled procurement capabilities.
  • Experience supporting integrations such as tax engines or third-party solutions.
  • Interest in supporting sales pursuits, proposals, or business development activities

  • We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business.  The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $102,500 to $187,900.  The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $122,900 to $213,400.  Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography.  In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
