Assurance – CCaSS Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Senior
Ernst & Young LLP’s (EY) Climate Change and Sustainability Services (CCaSS) practice is a dynamic, growing and diversified business that is seeking qualified and motivated EHS professionals to fulfill and expand our services. Our US CCaSS practice leverages our deep knowledge and understanding of complex remediation approaches and regulatory requirements to provide insights to our internal audit professionals and clients regarding the valuation and completeness of cleanup costs under a variety of regulatory jurisdictions and geologic settings. Our CCaSS professionals also provide EHS related advisory services to assist with program or policy integration or adaptations associated with business combinations and divestitures.
The Opportunity
You will help our clients meet their reporting requirements by accurately reporting on financial statements and providing meaningful insights into accounting and reporting matters as they related to environmental liabilities, asset retirement obligations, and compliance matters. Your Key Responsibilities
You will provide exceptional audit and advisory services for our clients. Colleagues and clients from a diverse array of backgrounds will look to you first for answers on environmental matters, and your insights and experience will be called upon to resolve complex issues. As you build your knowledge and experience, you will become a credible advisor, influencing clients and engagement teams on continual process improvement.

· Independently conducting assessments, managing performance and keeping engagement leaders updated on environmental accrual matters during audit engagements
· Engaging clients and providing insights on remedial approaches and leading practices
· Serving as a mentor to colleagues and other firm professionals on EHS matters

· Use of technology to continually learn, share knowledge and enhance service delivery
· Participation in new client and engagement pursuits, and providing insights on the EHS marketplace

To qualify for the role you must have
· A bachelor’s or master’s degree in environmental engineering, geology, environmental science or similar
· Three to five years of work experience in environmental investigation and remediation activities
· Experience in remediation technologies, including in-situ technologies for soil and groundwater
· An understanding of cost estimating procedures regarding site investigation and remedial action activities
· A deep understanding environmental regulations (CERCLA, RCRA, TSCA, CWA, CAA, etc.)
· Proven project management skills
· US citizen willing and able to obtain a security clearance with the federal government
· Ability to travel and engage our audit clients during 20% to 40% of the work year
Ideally you will have
· Experience in environmental due diligence matters related to business transactions
· Familiarity with remedial cost estimation or modeling tools such as RACER, Crystal Ball or @Risk
· Strong business sector knowledge in one or more areas common to environmental liabilities (e.g., aerospace and defense, manufacturing, mining and metals, waste management, etc.)
· Secondary language skills (Spanish fluency preferred)
· Familiarity with sustainability reporting frameworks and leading practices
