SAP BI-BW Manager - TechOps - Application Management - Consultant
The Opportunity
We are looking for an SAP BI/BW Manager to join the EY GDS – SAP TechOps Team. As an SAP BI/BW Manager, you will play a crucial role in optimizing our data management processes and enhancing our business intelligence capabilities. Your responsibilities will include leading the implementation and management of SAP BW and Business Intelligence solutions, ensuring seamless integration with ECC6.0. You will oversee data modeling, reporting and analytics, driving insights that inform strategic decisions.

To qualify for the role, you must have:
- Bachelor’s degree in related technology field (Computer, Engineering, Science, etc.) or comparable job experiences.
- Experience: 7+ years in SAP BW/BI, including hands-on experience in BW on HANA or BW/4HANA.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of SAP BW, HANA Modeling, CDS Views, and SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC).
- Implementation Lifecycle: Experience in full-lifecycle implementations and rollouts.
- Integration Knowledge: Familiarity with SAP S/4HANA, ECC, and third-party data source integration.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and leadership skills with the ability to work effectively in a global, cross functional team environment.
- Participate in SAP BI/BW and S/4 HANA implementation projects (business requirements gathering, system configuration, test documentation, execution, and post go-live support)
- Lead the deployment of SAP BW and BI solutions, with a focus on BW on HANA, SAP Analytics Cloud, and SAP Datasphere where applicable
- Analyze business needs and propose technical solutions within BI/BW, considering integration requirements and potential impacts on other SAP modules or third-party applications
- Prepare project documentation including functional and technical specifications
- Collaborate with business stakeholders and key partners to achieve successful project outcomes
- Mentor junior consultants and deliver training sessions in BI/BW functional areas
- Keep up-to-date with the latest SAP BI and data warehousing technologies
- Flexibility in managing work hours due to the volatile nature of Application Management work including ability to do shifts and being on call for critical business requirements
What you will do:
- Strategy & Leadership: Lead SAP BW/ECC implementation, migration, and support projects.
- Technical Design: Oversee data modeling (InfoProviders, CompositeProviders), ETL processes (Data Services, Extractors), and data staging techniques.
- Reporting & Analytics: Develop and maintain BEx Queries, Analysis for Office, and SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) dashboards.
- Performance Optimization: Tune data loads, optimize query performance, and improve database efficiency.
- Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with business partners to translate requirements into technical specifications.
- Team Management: Mentor consultants, manage project deliverables, and support governance.
- Required Qualifications & Skills
- Develop and maintain technical documentation including system configuration, installation procedures and guidelines.
- Mentor and train junior SAP BW Team Members, sharing best practices and providing guidance on technical issues and troubleshooting techniques.
- Keep abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies and SAP best practices to drive operational efficiency through automation and innovation
- Participate in on-call rotation and provide off hours support as needed to ensure the availability and reliability of critical SAP systems.
- Available to work on shift hours depending on the requirement of the client
