Global Delivery Services refers to EY's worldwide network of service delivery centers. The GDS team plays an important role in EY’s strategy by ensuring effective support to EY’s growth agenda.

The Opportunity

The Manager - Ecommerce Transformation will drive ecommerce transformation initiatives within the Customer practice, combining digital commerce strategy, customer experience improvement, operating model design, and delivery excellence. The role will support clients in improving online growth, commerce operations, product discovery, conversion, order experience, and omnichannel effectiveness. You will work with business and technology stakeholders to shape commerce roadmaps, design scalable operating models, and implement transformation initiatives that improve revenue realization, digital adoption, customer experience, and operational efficiency.

 

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Business Development & Market Leadership
    • Support ecommerce transformation pipeline development across advisory, implementation, and managed transformation opportunities.
    • Contribute to proposals, RFP responses, business cases, demos, and executive presentations focused on digital commerce growth and operational improvement.
    • Support GTM strategies for ecommerce transformation offerings across B2B, B2C, and marketplace-led business models.
    • Design and refine commerce transformation offerings aligned with client priorities, including digital channel growth, product data improvement, checkout optimization, and omnichannel enablement.
    • Contribute to thought leadership, client workshops, and points of view on ecommerce trends, digital buying behaviour, platform modernization, and commerce operating model evolution.
  • Client Engagement & Delivery
    • Lead ecommerce transformation workstreams from current-state assessment through strategy, roadmap design, implementation planning, and execution support.
    • Assess commerce journeys, digital storefronts, product information flows, merchandising processes, search and navigation, order management touchpoints, and performance metrics to identify improvement opportunities.
    • Design ecommerce operating models, governance structures, product data processes, merchandising workflows, channel strategies, and performance management frameworks.
    • Support initiatives across product discovery, catalog readiness, personalization, pricing and promotions, cart and checkout, order visibility, returns experience, and customer support integration.
    • Partner with product, technology, data, marketing, sales, and operations teams to translate commerce priorities into structured requirements, process flows, user stories, and delivery roadmaps.
    • Develop business cases and benefits models to quantify conversion improvement, revenue uplift, digital adoption, cost-to-serve reduction, and operational productivity gains.
    • Ensure delivery excellence across assigned workstreams, including scope, timeline, budget, risks, dependencies, and stakeholder alignment.
    • Support change management, adoption, and governance activities to embed sustainable commerce capabilities across business teams.
  • Technology & Innovation
    • Enable teams to leverage ecommerce platforms, product information management systems, order management systems, CRM, analytics, personalization tools, automation, and AI-enabled insights.
    • Stay ahead of technology trends shaping ecommerce transformation, including composable commerce, headless architecture, AI-enabled product discovery, personalization, digital shelf analytics, and omnichannel orchestration.
    • Identify opportunities to develop reusable accelerators for commerce journey assessment, product data maturity, conversion diagnostics, and benefits tracking.
  • Leadership & People Development
    • Manage project teams or workstreams and ensure high-quality delivery across ecommerce transformation engagements.
    • Mentor consultants and analysts on ecommerce strategy, requirements structuring, delivery governance, and cross-functional stakeholder management.

 

Skills and attributes for success

Ideally, you’ll also

  • Demonstrate knowledge of digital commerce capabilities, including B2B and B2C commerce, marketplace models, dealer and distributor portals, and subscription commerce.
  • Have exposure to leading commerce platforms and ecosystems, including Salesforce Commerce Cloud, Adobe Commerce, Shopify, SAP Commerce Cloud, commerce tools, BigCommerce, Akeneo, Salsify, and similar technologies.

 

What we look for

  • 8+ years of experience in ecommerce transformation, digital commerce, omnichannel strategy, customer experience, product data transformation, or commerce operations.
  • Consulting experience is desired.
  • Proven experience supporting or leading ecommerce transformation programs, digital channel improvement initiatives, or commerce operating model redesign.
  • Strong understanding of ecommerce journeys, digital merchandising, product information management, order experience, conversion optimization, and commerce performance metrics.
  • Hands-on experience with ecommerce platforms, analytics tools, PIM, OMS, CRM, or related digital commerce technologies.
  • Strong business development support, stakeholder management, communication, and project delivery skills.
