Your key responsibilities
Technical Excellence

- Experience in preparation and review of EU FinRep reporting templates based on IFRS and in accordance with EBA/ Regulatory guidelines.
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of the EU FINREP regulatory submissions.
- Supported global banks on FINREP remediation programs including S.166 and shadow S.166 work
- Analyse and interpret regulatory changes on FINREP and implement updates in reporting frameworks.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders and regulators to resolve reporting queries and discrepancies involving data attributes and data lineage for FINREP.
- Be well versed with analytical reviews on periodic FINREP reporting including following up with regional stakeholders to capture the correct explanations for variances and provide business insights on financial performance.
- Ensure compliance with key IFRS standards such as IFRS 9 (Financial Instruments), IFRS 7 (Risk disclosures), IFRS 10 (Consolidation), IFRS 13 (Fair Value Measurement), and IFRS 15 (Revenue Recognition).
- Experience in Expected Credit Loss as per IFRS 9 for banks.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for banks in compliance with IFRS standards.
- Maintain and enhance internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR) as relevant for EU FINREP reporting.
- Experience in change Management/Finance Transformation including driving automation initiatives using tools like Alteryx, VBA, Power BI, or ERP systems (SAP/Oracle).
- Coach junior team members, encourage technical excellence and learning.
- Integrate with other EY service lines on multi-disciplinary projects.
- Contribute to thought leadership and participate in marketing activities. To qualify for the role you must have
- A qualified CA (or equivalent e.g. CPA/ ICAEW/ ACCA/ MBA (Finance))
- Good academic record (1st/2nd time passes for ICAI or equivalent)
- Experience in EU/UK PRA FINREP Regulatory reporting as applicable to global banks.
- Ability to explain complex IFRS accounting effects on various financial instruments including derivatives and financial reporting issues simply.
- Strong IFRS financial reporting experience in large banks.
- Understanding of UK/EU FINREP guidelines, IFRS standards (especially IFRS 9) and preparation and consolidation of financial statements.
- Minimum of 4.5-8 years of relevant post qualification experience.
- Experience with data reconciliations and large datasets as part of FINREP reporting.
