Job Description
The role of Hybrid Cloud Architect – OpenShift is a specialist role and involve the following roles and responsibilities:
- Work as a technical architect to provide advisory services like technical assessment, gap analysis, remediation plan & roadmap for customer requirements.
- Work as a technical architect to propose target architecture and define HLD (High Level Design) & LLD (Low Level Design) for customer requirements.
- Work as an implementation & support lead for customer requirements.
- Ability to understand and deliver workload migration across Public, Private and Hybrid Cloud environments.
- Understand requirements for virtualization & cloud adoption across the entire as-a-service portfolio (IaaS / PaaS / SaaS)
- To troubleshoot Hybrid Cloud Landscape wrt challenges faced by the customer.
- Open to expand the horizon across other infrastructure areas like devOps, Kubernetes, Infrastructure automation through Ansible, Terraform etc.
Desired Profile
- 10+ years of experience on OpenShift/OpenStack, SUSE Rancher, Docker & Kubernetes and Linux platform covering assessment, design, sizing, build, migration and operate.
- End-to-end work experience with following technologies:
- Linux (Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), SUSE, Ubuntu etc), shell scripting, system monitoring, package management, system security etc.
- RedHat OpenShift or SUSE Rancher container platform
- Neutron - Software-defined networking (SDN), network function virtualization (NFV), Juniper, networking protocols, VLANs.
- Storage technologies like Ceph, Swift, SAN, NAS, iSCSI, GlusterFS etc
- Virtualization technologies like KVM, VMware, Xen, Hyper-V
- Vulnerability Assessment – System vulnerability scanning, vulnerability remediation plan & execution, scanning tool identification etc
- Security - Identity and access management (IAM), security protocols, encryption, compliance (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
- A good understanding of other surrounding technologies that complement Linux & OpenShift technologies like:
- Automation and Configuration Management - Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Terraform, Jenkins etc.
- Public Cloud Platform (at least one out of AWS, Azure & GCP), Kubernetes, Docker etc.
- Database Management - MySQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL, NoSQL databases
- DevOps practice - CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana)
- Programming and Scripting - Python, Bash, Ruby
Experience
- 10 to 16 years
Education
- B.Tech. / BS in Computer Science
Certifications
Any of the relevant OEM Level Certifications from:
- Any certification on OpenShift/OpenStack or SUSE Rancher
- Linux – RedHat, SUSE and other distributions
- Public Cloud – AWS / Azure / GCP
- VMware – VCP, VCAP, VMware vRealize, VMware NSX
- Infra-as-a-Code – Terraform.
- Containers – Docker, Kubernetes etc.
- Configuration Management – Ansible, Puppet, Chef etc.
