Workplace Manager
The opportunity
As our Workplace Manager you will be accountable for the local service delivery of workplace services across the Canberra portfolio, ensuring alignment with business needs and expectations whilst delivering consistent and exceptional customer service.
The Workplace Manager delivers on locally focused workplace activities ensuring compliance and tenancy standards are maintained, they also provide an escalation point, counselling, guidance, and support to the workplace team within their region.
This role is based in Canberra – Ngambri. Our roles can potentially be adjusted to work flexibly with reduced hours. Please speak with us about potential options.
Your key responsibilities
- Understand the importance of competing priorities, through ongoing engagement with the National Workplace Manager, work through those items which are essential versus those items which can be delayed to a later time.
- Drive the performance and outcomes of the local workplace team in line with service standards, whilst maintaining a positive work culture. Lead, coach and develop team members, building a high-performance culture where team members are engaged and inspired. Including but not limited to the development of processes and procedures driving accountability, leading to the accomplishment of team/business objectives.
- Drive exceptional operating standards of workplace premises in Canberra, striving for a best-in-class workplace operations across professional services. Ensure standards and offerings are reflective and scaled across all sites in your remit.
- Ensure Operational Compliance is maintained at all sites within your remit, this can be achieved through the implementation of compliance and maintenance processes and procedures.
- Local representative for the Crisis Management Team. Address and respond to issues/incidents related to the workplace and collaborate on strategies to reducing the further risks.
- Through collaboration with the National Workplace Manager, align the strategy for the OneService model and what it means for EY through our service objectives.
- Deliver local CAPEX projects, ensuring alignment with asset lifecycles and operational continuity for sites within your remit.
- Collaborate with building owners, vendors and suppliers to enable effective outcomes for sites within your remit, ensuring alignment with business objectives and requirements.
- Financial management of local GRE, Workplace and CAPEX budgets.
- Collaborate with your team in crafting and driving engaging workplace experiences through various programs, initiatives, and innovation across Canberra. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to elevate the holistic workplace experience and ensure programs are scaled and equitable across sites in your remit.
- Collaborate with project teams to support the enhancement of the local office, while overlaying specific operational requirements unique to Canberra.
- Collaborate with the National Workplace Manager to develop a roadmap for sites within your remit, ultimately leading to the development of stronger business relationships with your OMP.
Skills and attributes for success
- Tertiary Qualifications in a Facilities/Property discipline and/or 5+ years’ experience in a similar role within a professional services firm or medium corporate environments
- Facilities, operations and property management experience, including:
- Experience in managing operational teams
- Understanding of change management principles
- Understanding of project management principles
- Relationship and stakeholder management
- Financial management and reporting processes
- Negotiation skills
- Experience in supporting office relocation projects is advantageous.

Due to the nature of this role, Australian citizenship is required.
- EY Canberra currently holds Defence Industry Security Program (DISP) physical security accreditation. Awareness of the governing principles such as the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF) or the Defence Security Policy Framework (DSPF) is advantageous, but not mandatory.
