Senior Associates - Audit
The opportunity
As our Senior Associate you’ll be working alongside experienced professionals. You’ll work as part of a team to deliver trust and confidence in our clients’ reporting of financial data, by providing meaningful insights into accounting, financial sustainability, controls and processes, and strategic direction. As part of our Audit team in Canberra, you will be a part of a vibrant, close-knit team and receive great support for your personal and professional development. This role is based in Canberra – Ngambri. Our roles can potentially be adjusted to work flexibly with reduced hours. Please speak with us about potential options.
Your key responsibilities
- Leading fieldwork, leading client relationships, managing projects, coaching and mentoring more junior team members and keeping engagement leaders updated on progress and issues.
- Effectively designing and executing audit processes with appropriate consideration of audit risk issues and accounting technical matters, for example revenue recognition, fair value accounting, and long-term contracts.
- Engaging with client management and providing advice and professionalism throughout the year, including identification of areas for improvement in clients’ business processes.
What we look for:
Ideally, you’ll have the skills and attributes below but don’t worry if you don’t tick all the boxes. We’re interested in your aptitude, attitude and willingness to learn.
- Current Australian security clearance, or the ability to obtain one. This is required to service Government audits. Australian citizenship is required to obtain an Australian Government security clearance.
- Accounting degree or qualification.
- Proven experience leading the planning, execution and reporting components of audits.
- An inquisitive mind, demonstrating curiosity to understand our team, our clients, and the business ecosystem.
