The opportunity
EY Australia is proud to be a partner with the National TOP SECRET-Privileged Access (TS-PA) Vetting Authority within ASIO in developing a new TS-PA Capability. Under the TS-PA reforms, AGSVA’s PV clearances will transition to a new TS-PA standard for Australia’s highest-level security clearance which has been established to safeguard Australia from threats of espionage and foreign interference.
To support this capability development, we are working to establish a strong team of TS-PA Vetting Practitioners within EY which will result in a direct contribution in protecting the Australian Government’s most sensitive resources, capabilities and information from the threat of insider threat, espionage and foreign interference.
As our Vetting Manager you'll help to establish this capability leading a team of Vetting Analysts, handling complex personal security clearance processes, while helping to ensure robust COMSEC and INFOSEC program processes. Bring your existing skills in research, analysis, complex interviewing, risk assessment, and a passion for the national security mission.

This role is based in Naarm – Melbourne Boorloo – Perth / Canberra - Ngambri / Meanjin – Brisbane / Tarndanya / Warrang – Sydney.
Your key responsibilities
In this role, you will have supervisory responsibility for a high performing team, active assessment of security clearances, as well as leveraging your experience to help build the capability within your team.
You will have attention to detail and the ability to manage a complex, time-sensitive caseloads.
You will also be part of the Quality Assurance function, enforcing stringent quality controls, and be able to document robust, evidence-based advice on clearance outcomes.
- Conduct security clearances meticulously, strictly adhering to the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF) and EY best practices.
- Conduct thorough Quality Assurance checks on Personal Security Files (PSFs) ensuring their alignment with standard procedures and the PSPF.
- Effectively manage caseload and execution.
- Coach and mentor Analysts and Snr Analysts, as well new team members to help us develop our team.
What we look for
To be considered for this role you must have:
- Vetting experience highly regarded, with experience working within high-security environments.
- Experience in conducting face-to-face interviews.
- A current or recently held PV or NV2 clearance, and willingness to upgrade to the new TS-PA clearance.
- A Certificate IV in Government (Personnel Security Vetting) is required for this role. EY will provide this training to successful candidates who do not currently hold this qualification.

- Leadership: Experience in leading a team, mentoring/coaching, inclusive collaboration.
- Analytical Thinking: Information gathering, assessment, reasoning and evaluation of complex, sensitive information and identification of potential risks to national security.
- Curiosity: Explore inside and outside the box to find gaps, anomalies and identify patterns and connections. Use creativity and problem-solving skills to find meaning in data.
- Quality Assurance: Commitment to upholding high-quality standards in security vetting practices, strictly adhering to the PSPF.
