The opportunity

EY’s Economics Practice solves problems in policy, strategy, and commercial decision-making using economics frameworks and specialised analytical tools. We work closely with a range of government and private sector clients to address their most pressing challenges.

Our Economics Practice is going through an exciting period of growth, and we are looking for experienced economists to join our team in Canberra.

As a Manager, the opportunity will see you play a leading role in the growth and development of our team and business, manage engagements tackling Australia’s most prominent policy issues, and build constructive client relationships.

Our diverse client portfolio will build your capabilities in high quality analysis, managing relationships and challenging assumptions. In our friendly, collaborative environment, you’ll receive the support, formal training and coaching you need to progress quickly along the career path you choose.

What we’re looking for

  • Economics, public policy or other relevant qualifications (or equivalent work experience) combined with analytical experience gained from working in corporate and/or government sectors

  • Experience in areas such as economic analysis, economic impact studies, econometrics, forecasting, cost-benefit analysis, and/or economic policy and possibly regulatory analysis

  • Ability to define and solve problems, research issues and potential solutions, and provide advice on policy, program guidelines, market trends and industry practices

  • Leadership and project management experience

  • Experience developing detailed proposals and other impactful business development material

  • Experience designing, overseeing the development and reviewing best-practice economic models

  • Experience deploying production grade economic models to client environments and successfully integrating the model into client processes

What we offer

  • Continuous learning: personalised career development including coaching, experiences and formal learning so you’ll develop the mindset and skills you’ll need to thrive in the future

  • Diverse and inclusive culture: You’ll be embraced for who you are and empowered to use your voice to help others find theirs

At EY, you’ll be rewarded and recognised based on your performance and our comprehensive benefits package can be tailored to your individual needs.

We hold a collective commitment to foster an environment where all differences are valued and respected, practices are equitable and everyone experiences a sense of belonging. If you require any adjustments to the recruitment process in order to equitably participate, we encourage you to advise us at the time of application via or phone +61 3 8650 7788 (option 2).
