Government and Health Services Client Executive
The opportunity
As our GHS Client Executive, you’ll support the Federal Government Leader and the client service partners on the core accounts and to lead EY’s efforts in supporting the Government to achieve their strategic objectives. EY has a strong presence in public sector consulting, strategy, assurance and financial advisory services with a proud history of supporting Government to reform, design and enable the services that support improved citizen outcomes, financial management and national productivity. The role requires strong understanding of the public sector and the business of Government, the structure of Ministerial offices, central government and delivery agencies. It requires strong influencing skills and determining where we can add real value to Government and experience in selling complex solutions to senior buyers. Existing senior relationships and experience in public sector clients will be highly regarded.
The role is a market facing role and is responsible for building and maintaining buyer and influencer relationships, driving campaigns into accounts, understanding the Government’s strategy, issues and challenges and introducing EY’s expertise, solutions and services applicable to this strategy. Working with the the Client Service Partners (GCSPs the CE will need to shape the strategy for winning and delivering work in order to differentiate EY and increase the value the Government receives from our services.
Working with the Federal Government Leader, the role drives rigorous account planning and relationship development across the organisation and creation of distinctive demand generation strategies to ensure the Government is aware of EY’s unique value proposition for a wide range of services. With the Federal Government Leader, this role sets the account ambition, understands the market potential for EY’s services and drives the account team to achieve the account plan actions and realise the account revenue and margin goals. The CE should ensure that the firm’s clients and industries model is being leveraged to support the account including ensuring the utilisation of the Account Manager, assigned to support the account, to maximise the capture of insights to inform the account and pursuit strategies.
This role is based in Canberra – Ngambri. Our roles can potentially be adjusted to work flexibly with reduced hours. Please speak with us about potential options.
Your key responsibilities
- Leading the Government experience effort to optimise Government satisfaction and collect insights to support the account strategy.
- Strategic account planning to deliver a long term strategy for EY. Tactical account planning to deliver revenue plans and ensure pipeline coverage to achieve account targets.
- Delivering global Total Engagement Revenue results as well as personal sales and pipeline targets.
- Supporting the must win opportunities with pursuit leadership and coordinating across Markets in order to bring resources to the pursuit that will boost win success. Ensuring key actions and asks are reported to the Major Priority Pursuits (via the Oceania Government leader through to the Oceania Clients and Industries Board) process.
- Defining the long term investments required to deliver the account plans and supporting the CSPs to access and manage the allocation of these investments.
- Building demand generation strategies and accessing EY’s programs to position EY’s services with key buyers.
- Overseeing pipeline management and hygiene and actively managing pipeline to support revenue forecasting accuracy. Participating in annual budget and planning cycles and forecasting activity.
- Spending approximately 80% of his/her time leading by example by being externally focused and engaging with the Government and delivering exceptional client experience and leading pursuit teams to develop pursuit plans to differentiate EY.
- Acting as a proxy for the Global Client Relationship Partners both internally and externally with the Government. Expected percentage of time spent per BD activity: Strategy 10%/Management 10%/Government facing 80%.
- Interfacing with the Account Manager to deliver the insight loops and reporting that informs the account team on delivery.
- Interfacing across the clients and industries team to ensure the account leverages all programs relevant to the Government.
- Working with EY’s technology alliance partners to build differentiated solutions that address Government’s care economy and health sector challenges.
