Join our Financial Services Organisation (FSO) and you will work with multi-disciplinary teams from around the world to deliver a global market perspective. Aligned to key industry groups including asset management and private equity, banking and capital markets, and insurance, we provide integrated assurance, consulting, strategy & transactions, and tax services to our clients. The opportunity
As part of our International Tax Services team, as an ITTS senior, you’ll be right at the heart of the action. You’ll team with EY professionals and client stakeholders to advise many of the world’s largest organisations, fastest-growing companies and private equity firms on some of the most complex deals. You’ll be advising clients throughout the transaction life cycle on key drivers to increase value and reduce the tax risks and uncertainty inherent in transactions.
Your key responsibilities
As a senior you’ll be a member of the team advising on, developing and implementing transactions. You’ll spend your time on a diverse array of projects and clients in a highly collaborative culture. We’ll look to you to develop relationships with our clients and team effectively with internal resources, while developing and coaching junior members of the team.
Skills and attributes for success
• Serve as a member of multiple client engagement teams, participating in due diligence and structuring engagements related to transactions for private equity and strategic corporate clients
• Perform due diligence projects to provide a thorough review of tax returns, legal documents and financial statements needed to evaluate and calculate potential tax exposures
• Review, assess and advise clients regarding tax computations reflected in their financial models; and assist clients in the quantitative and qualitative analysis of the tax data in their financial projections for the transaction
• Assist clients in understanding the tax implications of existing and proposed transactions and structures to assist management in developing their tax strategy
To qualify for the role you must have
• A Bachelor’s degree in an accounting, finance or a business discipline, and a minimum of 3 years of relevant tax experience; or an advanced degree in tax or law and a minimum of 2 years of relevant tax experience
• A CPA (or equivalent internationally recognized accounting designation), Enrolled Agent, JD and/or LLM certification is required. Other qualifications or experience will also be considered.
• Tax due diligence, deal structuring and post-acquisition planning experience and/or inbound and outbound transaction consulting with international tax research, planning and compliance experience
• Experience managing budgets, projects and people
Ideally, you’ll also have
• Familiarity with the Global Anti-Base Erosion (GloBE) Rules, Pillar Two, and navigating the complexities of cross border engagements.
• Strong writing, research, analytical, communication and presentation skills
• Ability to work in fast-paced professional services environment
• Willingness and ability to travel, when necessary
