Join our team as a Seasonal Tax Reviewer where we empower you to make a difference and innovate with purpose. You will be a part of our People Advisory Services (PAS) practice within the Mobility Tax group. Our PAS practice provides high-quality compliance and advisory solutions to help our clients drive organizational success through human capital. Our practice is one of the world's largest and has talented and innovative professionals dedicated to teamwork and exceptional client service. People Advisory Services encompasses Mobility, Global Employment Tax Services, Total Rewards, and Immigration services. At EY, we believe in the power of our people. Take on this challenging and rewarding role as a Seasonal Tax Reviewer and gain valuable experience while collaborating with a team of tax professionals dedicated to excellence. You will perform detailed review work on both Canadian and/or US personal tax returns for internationally mobile employees of our global international clients.

Your key responsibilities

  • Review personal tax returns;
  • Research client issues that arise from compliance work using a variety of on-line sources;
  • Correspond with managers, staff and/or clients in answering clients’ specific personal tax queries or about matters that arise from compliance;
  • Demonstrate professionalism through a positive and cooperative attitude and by maintaining the confidential and proprietary nature of client relationships and related work products.

 

Skills and attributes for success

  • 2+ years previous experience reviewing Canadian and/or US personal tax returns
  • Attention to detail, excellent organizational skills and strong verbal and written communication skills;
  • A positive attitude and the ability to work under pressure;
  • If performing US tax work, the ability to obtain a US PTIN number;

 

Ideally, you’ll also

  • Possess knowledge of TaxPrep or CCH software would be an asset;
  • Bring previous experience with tax research tools would be an asset.

  • Enthusiasm for technology-driven solutions and an eagerness to explore and implement them;
  • Interest in mentoring and fostering the development of junior team members;
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal;
  • Prior experience in US personal tax is advantageous, but not necessary.

EY reports salary ranges in accordance with applicable provincial pay transparency legislation. Individual salaries within the anticipated salary ranges noted below are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to internal equity, education, relevant experience, knowledge, and applicable skill sets.

    • Toronto : $92,000 to $138,000
    • Waterloo : $87,000 to $131,000
    • Vancouver : $92,000 to $138,000
