The Opportunity 

 

In today’s competitive business landscape, creativity is essential for sustained success. EY-Parthenon’s Strategy team is looking for ambitious, analytical professionals to join our expanding Strategy and Commercial Due Diligence (CDD) practice in the MENA. 

Your role will involve assessing acquisition targets, exploring new markets, and evaluating business models through rigorous analysis of market dynamics and competitive positioning. As part of our talented team, you'll gain diverse project experiences, senior mentorship, and structured learning opportunities that foster professional growth and make a significant regional impact. You will advise clients, including private equity firms and government entities, on strategic growth and investment opportunities.

 

Your key responsibilities

 

You will conduct various analysis such as customer segmentation, market sizing, and competitor analysis to support strategic recommendations. This includes evaluating acquisition targets through in-depth assessments of business models, revenue streams, and competitive positioning, as well as reviewing financial models to identify key assumptions. 

 

Additionally, you will perform secondary research using various sources and design interview guides for stakeholders and industry experts. Depending on your level, you may lead workstreams, coordinate analysis across teams, and guide junior team members. Your role will also involve preparing client-ready outputs, including presentations and reports that synthesize complex data into clear insights. 

 

Skills and attributes

 

To succeed in this role, you’ll need a strong blend of intellectual curiosity, analytical thinking, commercial awareness, and professional maturity. Key attributes include the ability to develop business strategies through tools like market analysis, customer research, macroeconomic forecasting, and portfolio optimization; Effectively engaging with clients; the capacity to collect, analyze, and translate large volumes of qualitative and quantitative data into actionable plans and goals; and a collaborative mindset to motivate and counsel junior team members from diverse backgrounds.

 

Education & Qualification: 

 

  • A bachelor's degree from a top-ranking school with outstanding academic performance 
  • A minimum of 2 years of work experience, ideally within strategy consulting, investments, private equity, market research, or a quantitative type of research function 
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to make detailed assessments of industries, products, markets, competitors and customers 
  • Proficiency in the English and Arabic language, including the ability to listen, understand, read and communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally, in a professional environment 
  • Strong command of Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) 
  • Willingness and ability to travel within the MENA region, when necessary (not expected to exceed 20% of your time throughout a year)

 

Ideally, you’ll also:

 

  • Have an MBA or Master’s degree from a top-tier business school
  • Have prior experience with a focus on client advisory with excellent problem-solving, project management, facilitation, and interpersonal skills within a professional services environment
  • Have full fluency in Arabic, both written and spoken
  • Exposure to transactions or due diligence environments and experience in market or financial modelling and tools such as Tableau
