TTT - Project Delivery Senior (SAP US National Tax) - EY Global Delivery Services
Job description
The opportunity – Project Delivery Senior (SAP US National Tax)
Finance and tax transformation, in conjunction with replatforming of ERP in SAP’s next generation S/4HANA landscape, make up one of the biggest opportunities for our clients to improve and ‘future proof’ the tax function, and represent an area that has seen significant growth and investment – which you will see reflected in your career. It is no exaggeration to say that you will be working on highly publicized projects. This is your opportunity to operate at the dynamic intersection of major technological and tax/regulatory change.
Your key responsibilities
You will be working on the entire delivery lifecycle of large finance and tax transformation programs (and supporting the associated sales/pursuit process for new engagements). You will help our clients leverage SAP technology and related third-party applications to realize enterprise value by improving their tax function (supporting and automating internal and external operations).
Skills and attributes for success
We maintain our reputation as trusted advisors through continual learning, embracing change, and a strong sense of ownership in delivery. To be successful, you will be highly proactive, structured, and proud of the quality of your work. You will thrive in an environment where priorities evolve and where clarity must be created through disciplined execution and stakeholder alignment
The ideal candidate will also:
- Demonstrate strong delivery leadership and operational ownership, turning requests into a clear plan, cadence, and measurable outcomes.
- Experience managing high-volume operations (e.g., large portfolios, peak demand scenarios, SLA-driven environments)
- Translate business needs into structured work items (scope, milestones, risks, dependencies, actions), ensuring alignment across stakeholders.
- Be comfortable coordinating cross‑functional teams, managing priorities, and operating as an escalation point during high‑pressure periods.
- Apply a data‑driven approach to planning, prioritization, and reporting (e.g., workload forecasting, delivery sequencing, KPI tracking)
- Contribute to process standardization and continuous improvement, reducing reliance on manual tracking through lightweight automation and better tooling.
- Produce executive‑ready communications (status updates, decision summaries, RAID logs) tailored to different stakeholder audiences
To qualify for the role, you must have
- A bachelor's degree in Information Systems or a master's degree in Accounting, Tax Technology, Management Information.
- A minimum of three years of relevant experience in project / program delivery, operations coordination, or transformation support roles (experience in Tax/Finance environments is a plus)
- Strong project execution skills, including planning, dependency/risk management, and structured stakeholder communication
- Approved technical certification, CPA license or membership to state Bar or progress to attaining those mentioned
- A strong interest in technology and its use in business processes, especially in the context of U.S. taxes.
- Proven experience using delivery tools such as Jira / Azure DevOps (or similar) to manage work intake, prioritize, and report progress
- Excellent communication and business writing skills, with the ability to create concise, leadership‑ready materials.
- A demonstrated ability to successfully contribute to the collection and documentation of requirements for large enterprise programs. (fit and gap processes)
Ideally, you'll also have
- Exposure to ERP / SAP programs (enough to understand delivery phases and stakeholder needs), without requiring deep functional configuration expertise
- Experience supporting innovation or automation initiatives (e.g., streamlining manual workflows, building repeatable templates, or enabling AI‑assisted ways of working).
What we look for
We are looking for technical professionals with an excellent general knowledge of both international and domestic tax. You will need excellent business acumen and a firm strategic vision, so if you are ready to use those skills to develop our team, this role is for you.
