Microsoft Teams Junior Technical Lead
with secondary Messaging and Exchange Online support

Enterprise Technology provides reliable, secure and resilient technology services and solutions to support our 400,000+ EY people across more than 150 countries. As part of Enterprise Technology, you’ll be at the forefront of enabling innovative technologies including emerging collaboration tools and top-tier technology infrastructure.
Our aim is to create a superior customer experience with clear investment in innovation, alongside operational excellence that delivers efficient, quality services and solutions. You will work with technologists and business experts to meet the increasing pace of our business. That means more growth for you, exciting learning opportunities, career choices, and the chance to make a real impact.
The opportunity
Assist Global Technical Leads in the technical ownership and global technical management of the Microsoft Teams platform across EY. This is primarily a Teams role, spanning policy governance, feature enablement, application onboarding, federation and external access governance, operational coordination, and rollout validation. The role also includes a smaller, secondary Messaging footprint, supporting initial Exchange Online and Outlook triage, mail flow investigation, and coordination with the Messaging team when required.
It partners closely with Product Managers, engineering, operations, and Microsoft to ensure consistent, compliant, and scalable configurations globally. Key is providing technical know-how whilst understanding the complexities of the business, user experience and wide-reaching technology integrations.
Core responsibilities
1.    Support technical ownership of the Microsoft Teams platform, ensuring consistency across Teams Admin Center (TAC), PowerShell, provisioning systems, and alignment to global baseline configurations.
2.    Assist in designing, enforcing, and managing the lifecycle of global and country-level Teams policies, including meetings, messaging, apps, external access, policy assignments, exception handling, and large-scale policy transitions.
3.    Support Teams provisioning processes and Modern Enablement Tool (MET) alignment; validate that provisioning outcomes match expected policy behavior and troubleshoot inconsistencies between assigned and effective configurations.
4.    Act as a point of contact for developers requesting Teams-related Microsoft Graph API permissions, guiding enterprise application registration activities and coordinating permission scope approvals with Information Security and API owners.
5.    Monitor Teams federation and external access usage, support removal of inactive domains, and maintain visibility into federation governance and recertification processes.
6.    Coordinate with engineering and operations on Teams feature enablement, platform changes, pilot programs, and readiness validation activities; identify and escalate platform inconsistencies to Microsoft and internal engineering teams.
7.    Coordinate and follow up on open Teams incidents, requests, and actions through to resolution; assist with testing, validation, user acceptance testing (UAT), and rollout readiness activities.
8.    Stay informed on Microsoft roadmap features affecting the Teams platform, validate documented behavior against real-world results, and support preparation of technical updates and stakeholder communications including CLT decks, summaries, and briefings.
9.    Provide secondary support for Exchange Online and Outlook operations, including initial incident triage, mailbox and mail flow investigations, feature validation, and operational coordination with the Messaging team when required.
