The Revenue Finance Commercial Excellence Analyst will support revenue performance reporting, migration and renewal planning, business analytics, and executive decision-making. The role will partner with Revenue Finance, Sales, Commercial, Product, and business leadership teams to translate commercial and financial data into clear insights, actionable recommendations, and reliable performance targets.
The successful candidate will combine strong financial and analytical capabilities with business acumen, attention to detail, and the ability to produce executive-ready reporting. The position will also help maintain consistent business definitions, improve reporting processes, and ensure alignment across financial models, operational dashboards, and leadership expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Revenue Performance Reporting
- Develop and maintain monthly reporting for renewal and migration performance, including retained and total Monthly Recurring Revenue, target attainment, historical trends, deal drivers, and segment and product views.
- Analyze business results and prepare clear commentary covering performance drivers, risks, opportunities, and recommended calls to action.
- Produce executive-ready materials for Revenue Reviews, EAT reviews, segment reviews, and other leadership discussions.
- Perform quality reviews of management presentations, financial analyses, segment views, and supporting talking points.
- Track historical commercial outcomes, including win rates, deal-size trends, and other relevant performance indicators.
- Maintain a consistent understanding of renewal and migration definitions, opportunity classifications, and reporting treatment.
Analytics and Decision Support
- Manage ad hoc analytical requests by clarifying the business question, intended audience, required output, timing, scope, and appropriate level of detail.
- Transform complex data into concise insights and recommendations that support commercial and financial decision-making.
- Identify material trends, risks, opportunities, and performance gaps.
- Develop clear presentations and analytical outputs tailored to both operational and executive audiences.
Data, Models, and Systems
- Use contract-level information to support renewal and migration analysis, while understanding the available fields, extraction methods, and data limitations.
- Analyze Salesforce opportunity and lifecycle data, including renewal and migration classifications, data quality, and reporting limitations.
- Use the Executive Dashboard to analyze performance, apply filters, validate definitions, extract supporting detail, and review compensable-product results.
- Use the principal revenue dashboard as a centralized reporting source and reconcile its outputs with historical reporting and other internal data sources.
- Identify data-quality or reconciliation issues and work with the appropriate stakeholders to resolve them.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Data Analytics, or a related field.
- Experience in Revenue Finance, FP&A, Commercial Finance, Sales Finance, or a similar analytical function.
- Strong financial modeling and quantitative analysis capabilities.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience working with financial and commercial performance metrics, planning models, forecasts, targets, and variance analysis.
- Ability to interpret large datasets and translate findings into clear business insights.
- Strong attention to detail and experience reconciling results across multiple data sources.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to develop executive-ready commentary and presentations.
- Ability to prioritize multiple deliverables and respond effectively to ad hoc business requests.
- Professional fluency in English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Salesforce, financial dashboards, business intelligence tools, or contract-level databases.
- Knowledge of subscription, telecommunications, recurring-revenue, or Monthly Recurring Revenue business models.
- Experience supporting renewal, migration, retention, or commercial transformation programs.
- Familiarity with PxQ modeling, target setting, cohort analysis, scenario modeling, and sensitivity analysis.
- Experience working with cross-functional and geographically distributed teams.
- Knowledge of Power BI, Tableau, SQL, or similar analytical tools would be an advantage.
