Job description
Job Purpose
Payroll is one of the specialty practices within the Global Compliance and Reporting (GCR) Sub Service Line under TAX.
The DigiPay Tech Services role is responsible for leading the successful delivery of technology-enabled client implementations, acting as the primary point of contact between clients and EY internal teams throughout the end-to-end project lifecycle.
This role focuses on understanding client requirements and translating business needs into system and payroll configuration specifications, while driving implementation plans aligned with payroll calendars and EY global tools and platforms (including but not limited to DigiPay).
In addition, the role plays a key part in change management, stakeholder engagement, and project governance, ensuring smooth client transitions, high-quality delivery, and proactive risk identification and mitigation. Success in this role requires strong project management capabilities, effective communication skills, and the ability to collaborate across multiple stakeholders in a global environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage end-to-end global payroll implementation and transition projects in a multi-country environment, ensuring alignment with client requirements and EY methodologies.
- Oversee and monitor payroll-related automations within DigiPay and other systems, ensuring data accuracy, process compliance, and timely resolution of exceptions or system issues.
- Collaborate with Engagement Leaders, global project managers, and cross-functional teams to deliver efficient and effective client transitions to EY.
- Translate client business requirements into system and payroll configuration specifications, ensuring accurate setup across tools, platforms, and integrations.
- Develop, maintain, and execute detailed project plans, including scope, timelines, milestones, and deliverables, ensuring client sign-off on agreed project parameters.
- Manage project governance, including status tracking, reporting, and communication of critical paths, risks, and dependencies to senior leadership.
- Drive change management activities, supporting smooth client onboarding, system adoption, and transition to BAU (business-as-usual) operations.
- Prepare and manage key project documentation, including business requirements documents, project charters, RACIs, risk management plans, communication plans, and change management plans.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, escalating issues when necessary and ensuring proactive resolution.
- Coordinate internal and external stakeholders, including clients, shared service centers, tax/finance teams, and EY network teams, to ensure seamless execution.
- Manage project communications, including status reports, meeting minutes, and issue/risk logs.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ranging from simple to complex, ensuring quality delivery within timelines.
- Mentor and support junior team members, contributing to capability building, knowledge sharing, and internal training initiatives.
Functional & Technical Skills
- Strong end-to-end payroll knowledge, including processes, controls, and compliance considerations; multi-country payroll experience is preferred.
- Hands-on experience with payroll systems and automation tools (including DigiPay), with the ability to monitor workflows, troubleshoot issues, and ensure data integrity across system integrations.
- Understanding of payroll interfaces, data flows, transition methodologies, and accounting impacts.
- Experience working in global payroll transitions within shared service environments.
- Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and presentation skills.
- Proven ability to define, document, and implement processes across multiple teams or functions.
- Ability to work effectively with global and virtual teams.
- Strong collaboration mindset, with a focus on continuous improvement, innovation, and team contribution.
Qualifications & Experience
Education
Graduate / Post Graduate degree in Accounting, Human Resources, or related field preferred.
Professional Certifications
PMP / PRINCE2 certifications are an added advantage.
Experience
- 3+ years of experience in Project Management, with knowledge of methodologies and best practices; experience managing cross-functional and multi-tiered projects.
- 2+ years of experience in Payroll, Benefits, Finance, or Human Resources.
- Ability to adapt to evolving business needs and dynamic project environments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (MS Project, Excel, Word, Visio, PowerPoint).
- Basic SQL / CSV handling / Excel formulas for data checks
- Exposure to service management workflows (SNOW, Jira)
- Advanced level of English (written and verbal), with the ability to communicate effectively with global stakeholders.
