Business Tax Advisory - Quantitative Services - Junior Engineers - EY Global Delivery Services

 

An exciting opportunity to work in EY’s Business Tax Advisory – Quantitative Services group with a diverse team of highly successful tax specialists in Global Research and Development -R&D- Tax Credit practice. You will support companies in analyzing the complex tax issues associated with the treatment of expenditures incurred for research and development work to claim R&D Tax credits and incentives.

As a GDS-QS team member, you will also be part of an exciting, rapidly growing, globally focused team of India-based tax professionals who support a suite of similar tax services across a variety of English-speaking countries. 

 

The opportunity 

EY’s QS service offering provides a unique approach in analysinganalyzing the complex tax issues associated with the federal and state income tax treatment of research expenditure that are incurred by clients spanning a wide range of industries and geographies. 

As a member of the QS-R&D team, you will work closely with engagement teams in the United States on a variety of clients, including some of the largest global corporations and transactions. In your role, you will perform expenditure data analysis to calculate eligible Qualified Research Expenses to determine applicable R&D Credit that can be claimed by our clients. 

 

Your key responsibilities 

• Analysing the expenditure data by reviewing client payroll, general ledger expenses, invoices, engagement letters, etc.           

•  Preparing computations and documentation that support the analysis of the QREs and R&D Credit. 

•  Creating client calculations and importing client expense data into our proprietary client delivery platform          

•  Build costing data models based on the information provided by the client to calculate tax benefits as per the public administration policy related to investment incentives 

 

Skills and attributes for success 

• Academical degree in Mechanical, Chemical or Software Engineering

• Strong Data analytical skills along with proficiency in MS-Office tools - MS-Excel, MS-Access, MS-Power point 

• Excellent English communication skills - written and verbal 

• Ability to handle and manage multiple concurrent engagements,  and meet strict deadlines and manage stakeholders 

•  Strong time management and task management skills and working with different engagement team  

 

Ideally, you’ll also have 

• Previous experience in R&D and other incentives will be preferred 

• Strong time management and task management skills and working with different engagement teams 

•  Ability to handle and manage multiple concurrent engagement timelines and stakeholdersSelf-starter, who can work pro-actively within a larger team
