Global Delivery Services refers to EY's worldwide network of service delivery centers. The GDS team plays an important role in EY’s strategy by ensuring effective support to EY’s growth agenda.

Position Summary

The GDS Global Ecosystem Reporting Operations Strategist is a senior, enterprise-facing leadership role within the GDS Alliances Shared Services Bureau, operating as a strategic partner to the Global Alliances and Ecosystem Relationships Finance & Reporting Leader to shape and run the end-to-end strategy, governance, and operational execution of the Ecosystem Finance Reporting & Analytics agenda

This role is designed for a trusted business advisor who can influence and challenge senior stakeholders across the ecosystem, including Finance, Enablement, Alliance Leadership, and cross-functional teams, by translating ambiguous priorities into decision-ready roadmaps, measurable outcomes, and disciplined execution. It combines portfolio governance, executive decision support, financial and reporting acumen, and data/analytics modernization leadership, while ensuring compliance, control adherence, and operational integrity.

The incumbent will operate with high autonomy and discretion, owning a strategic portfolio of initiatives (reporting strategy, data/analytics modernization, operating cadence, performance insights, stakeholder governance, and change enablement), and is expected to bring a strong point of view, grounded in data and business context—to steer the ecosystem reporting agenda toward measurable impact.

Essential Functions of the Job

• Develop subject matter expertise, strategic planning, execution and value realization:

  • Deep dive into all Ecosystem Relationship reporting programs, define and drive the Ecosystem Reporting Operations Strategy, aligned to Global Alliances Finance & Reporting priorities, including multi-quarter roadmaps, value cases, and measurable outcomes.
  • Periodic reviews of ad hoc reporting programs and projects, evaluate, plan, execute, track and report monitor progress, establish a value-realization model: benefits tracking, adoption measures, and outcome metrics (service reliability, cycle time reduction, reporting quality, stakeholder decision impact)
  • Work closely with leadership on key strategic projects and ensure alignment with alliances reporting objectives and timelines
  • Proactively identify strategic gaps and opportunities in reporting coverage, data quality, and insights maturity, and propose prioritized interventions. Be a trusted business advisor and provide key inputs to support the ER Finance Enablement decision-making, bringing clarity on trade-offs, sequencing, resourcing, and governance.

• Program Leadership & Governance:

  • Lead and manage enterprise-wide reporting, and analytics programs ensuring alignment with business strategy, timeline, quality expectations and budgets. Lead and manage special projects and initiatives as directed by Ecosystem Enablement leadership
  •             Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets, ensuring timely and successful completion
  •             Monitor project progress and address any issues or obstacles that arise
  •             Keep track of project costs – both during development and post deployment costs for ongoing support
  • Define program roadmaps, interdependencies, governance frameworks, escalation paths, and decision rights across stakeholders.
  • Track and report progress, resolve escalations, manage risks, and ensure delivery of business value.
  • Monitor success metrics, track program effectiveness and ROI, maintain adherence to required controls, compliance expectations, and confidentiality

•          Facilitate effective communication and collaboration:

  • Act as the single point of contact for senior finance and business stakeholders across all program workstreams.
  • Partner with Business Units, Technology and Data teams to ensure alignment of reporting and analytics outcomes with strategic goals.
  • Lead cross-functional steering committee meetings and provide clear reporting on program KPIs and milestones.
  • Provide decision-ready executive materials: narrative insights, scenario options (including budget scenarios), risk posture, and “so-what” interpretations of trends and variances.

• Project Management:

  • Lead and manage special projects and initiatives as directed by Ecosystem Enablement leadership, ensure consistency in status reporting, dependencies, milestones, and risks.
  • Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets, ensure timely and successful completion, partner with Finance to track budgets, monitor forecasts/variances, and maintain transparency on investment effectiveness and run-cost implications.
  • Monitor project progress and address any issues or obstacles that arise
  • Drive proactive risk management: identify execution risks early, implement mitigation plans, and ensure leadership has clear options

• Cross-Functional Integration:

  • Orchestrate alignment across Business Units, Alliance leaders, enablement stakeholders, Technology and Data teams to ensure coherent sequencing and delivery.
  • Proactively remove roadblocks, streamline decision-making, and manage competing priorities across a complex matrix.
  • Represent Reporting Operations in enterprise forums; facilitate steering committees and leadership discussions with clarity and confidence.

• Manage Stakeholder Relations:

  • Challenge constructively: question assumptions, surface risks, highlight inconsistencies in stakeholder demands, and drive decision discipline using evidence and structured options.
  • Prepare materials and reports for ER Finance leadership and Governance meetings
  • Attend meetings with or on behalf of the Alliances Finance & Reporting leader, prepare summaries, publish and ensure follow-up on action items
  • Responsible for reviewing and coordinating the Finance Reporting & Data Analytics team contribution to quarterly workshops
  • Develop, maintain and promote positive relationships and engagement with key stakeholders
  • Provide coordination support across Sector, Super Regions, and Functions

• Analytical/Decision Making Responsibilities:

  • Manage complex relationships with multiple stakeholders often with competing priorities
  • Use judgement to determine when to escalate issues to Ecosystem Finance leadership or other stakeholders
  • Identify potential risks, articulate, document, and flag the risks to appropriate stakeholders
  • Ability to balance evaluating and supporting new opportunities while supporting multiple ongoing projects
  • Anticipate problems before they surface (delivery, data quality, adoption, stakeholder misalignment) and intervene early. Drive continuous improvement cycles: post-quarter retrospectives, root cause analysis for reporting defects/variance drivers, and corrective action governance.
  • Ensure reporting reference materials are current, accessible, and governed; support consistent communication and knowledge-sharing across the ecosystem reporting suite.

 

Knowledge and Skills Requirements

• Relevant experience in finance transformation, enterprise program management, or business intelligence within large organizations.

• Proven experience managing large cross-functional programs in finance or shared services environment.

• Good knowledge of financial reporting frameworks, performance metrics, and regulatory reporting requirements.

• Strong proficiency in project management tools and methodologies (like Agile, PMP, Prince2, etc.).

• Familiarity with modern finance systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Workday), data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Azure), and PowerApps/BI tools.

• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder influencing skills, demonstrated ability to lead and influence at all levels of the organization.

• Strong strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills

• Must be trustworthy, high level of discretion and confidentiality, should be compliant with disclosure, independence, intellectual property and data protection mandates

• Subject Matter Expertise – understanding of global professional services finance and business models

• Strategic Planning and Execution

• Understanding of organizational change frameworks and enablement practices, knowledge of how to build messaging, storytelling, and executive communications that resonate with senior internal and external stakeholders

• Deep understanding of EY matrixed structure and stakeholder

  • ability to identify who, where and how decisions are made within EY functional/super-regional/sector matrix
  • ability to figure out how to access those stakeholders
  • ability to craft and target communications that are carefully tailored to each audience

• Understanding of the consulting sales process and client-delivery process

• Ability to craft and refine executive-level content and communications

• Knowledge of EY & GDS operations, including org structure, operating model, management information systems, independence concepts, etc. (for internal candidates), Big 4 consultancy exposure with experience in leadership support/strategic environment (for external candidates)

Key Qualifiers for the role

• 15+ Years of work experience  

• Academics: University Graduation, preferably with Finance as a major, MBA or equivalent with Finance specialization is preferred.

• Having any of the following certification (or learning for internal EY candidates), would be an added advantage:
