This role is part of Finance Operations (within Tax Service line), who provides the client with immediate access to an entire finance function delivering end to end services from transaction processing, accounting, monthly reporting through the statutory and tax cycle.
We are seeking an experienced Senior Bookkeeper to oversee and execute clients' accounting operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery of financial information. The successful candidate will manage complex accounting activities, support team members, drive process improvements, coordinate transitions and system migrations, and serve as a key point of contact for clients and global stakeholders. Based on internal role expectations for senior-level accounting positions, the role should demonstrate stronger ownership of close processes, reconciliations, issue resolution, and stakeholder management.
Role:
This role is expected to be the first level of review and coordination of day-to-day Finance Operate activities based in Buenos Aires, for a US client.
The key deliverables for this role are:
- Act as reviewers and coordinate day to day accounting activities performed by the team based in GDS Buenos Aires, reporting to the Manager.
- Lead monthly bookkeeping activities for clients, including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and General Ledger processes. Oversee day to day activities from BA team, composed by Seniors and Staffs that include:
- Manual JEs
- Monthly Flash Report
- Financial Result Summary
- CFO Deep Dive Inputs
- Close Management
- Review and perform bank reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and resolve complex accounting issues.
- Prepare and review monthly tax account reconciliations.
- Coordinate and execute monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities, ensuring compliance with established deadlines.
- Analyze financial information, reconcile balance sheet accounts, and identify unusual fluctuations or risks.
- Prepare performance reports (KPIs), management reports, and support variance analysis.
- Support and guide junior team members, providing technical assistance and quality review of deliverables.
- Become client stakeholders trusted advisor and point of contact during the transition and after go-live
- Coach junior team members to deliver client on timely and quality manner, becoming a referent for them and leading by example in terms of client communication and team behaviours.
- Interact with other locations such as GDS India and ACR US onshore team to guarantee business model and client support is consistent across locations.
- Monitor operation metrics (KPIs, SLAs) and other metrics defined with client during transition.
- Participate in and lead transition activities for new engagements and process transfers.
- Support accounting and ERP system migration projects, including testing, validation, and process documentation.
- Ensure adherence to internal controls, compliance requirements, and reporting standards.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, external finance teams, and accounting partners.
- Act as a key contact for foreign offices and coordinate activities across global teams.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation initiatives, and standardization of accounting procedures.
Profile:
The ideal candidate should have 5+ years of experience including (a) controllership in a shared services environment.
- Finance domain knowledge

- Controllership and Finance experience, including qualification in finance, has a good understanding of finance operations processes (R2R, B2P, O2C, …)
- Work with Shared Services (captive or outsourced)
- Project / transition knowledge
- Experience of transitioning F&A projects with personal accountability for delivering to time and cost
- Understand and ideally has participated in or led an ERP or other IT tool implementation & understands the different steps in the lifecycle of such a project
- Leadership skills
- Good communication skills with the courage & integrity to speak candidly & succinctly
- Ability to collaborate across different time zones, cultures & teams
- analytical skills: ability to quickly assess problems/risks and connect dots

Education & Certification Requirements:
- MBA/CA/ICWA/CFA/Accounting degree or a related discipline; or equivalent work experience
