ACR Project Finance Accounting Manager - EY Global Delivery Service

Job Summary

EY Finance Managed Services group is seeking a professional to own and drive the delivery of our Project Finance accounting and analysis operations. The successful candidate will be a strong project accounting expert with detailed understanding of accounting, analysis and reporting nuances of professional service projects. Ideal candidate will be an individual who can partner with project delivery stakeholders in end-to-end accounting, analysis and reporting of diverse set of projects executed for end clients. Candidate will be a people leader with a keen awareness of service management optics and an adeptness in utilizing tools and technologies such as Workday, Anaplan, ServiceNow (SNOW), and Power BI.

Key Responsibilities

Take full ownership and accountability for the delivery of Project analysis services, ensuring operational excellence, adherence to SLAs and providing actionable insights to help client stakeholder take timely actions to improve business performance

• Be able to perform analytics on project performance, costing, fees, revenue recognition aspects etc.
• Ability to interact with business stakeholders to assess and determine project completion milestones which triggers recognition of revenue and associated cost
• Monitor and help solving in project billing and revenue issues
• Management of Change orders; setup of change order implications in terms of revenue and costs both in Workday (ERP) and satellite billing system
• Be able to act as business partner to client business leaders- identify areas of improvement in project economics, monitor under and over runs in costs and revenue, cost leakage prevention, margin improvement etc
• Fluent and confident communication skills to engage with senior client leaders, prepare crisp and impactful project performance briefings with supporting data and analysis.
• Monitor Project performance metrics and KPIs, providing regular reports to senior management on the health and progress of contracted KPIs
• Demonstrated experience in Revenue recognition in accordance with US GAAP.
• Experienced in setting up projects in ERPs, creating cost budget, determining billing points based on Contract terms and conditions and as per applicable accounting guidelines.
• Manage accounting, analysis and reporting of named cohort of customer projects
• Support preparation of revenue forecasts, support managing audit requirements

Essential Requirements

• 10+ years of experience with bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field. An MBA or professional certification (e.g., CFA, CA,CPA) is advantageous.
• Prior experience in Project accounting in professional services industry is a must
• Demonstrated experience in multi-dimensional analytics – customer, vendor, margin, cost of delivery etc.
• Tenacity to dig deeper into data to extract hidden insights for facilitating superior business decisions.
• Exceptional leadership capabilities with a proven ability to mentor and develop a high-performing team.
• Working knowledge of Workday and Anaplan system and prior experience of going through Workday implementation will be added advantage.
• High proficiency in MS excel for slicing the data and create meaningful reports with insights and commentary
