The opportunity

The Supervising Learning Associate role is responsible for the supervision of executing and awarding Continuing Professional Education (CPE) Classes (including client focused, multi-day, large audience) being offered by the business. Maintains a portfolio of cases,  working with the business to review the content confirming it meets the NASBA (National Association of State Boards of Accountancy) checklist for a class awarding Continued Professional Education (CPE), assessing if it applies adult learning principles and if necessary, assisting in writing learning objectives. They supervise the day to day activities of the team of Senior Learning Associates, escalating issues to manager as needed.

 

Your key responsibilities

  • Staff Senior Learning Associates to cases, tracking volume based on topic and type of class.
  • Oversee team of Senior Learning Associates ensuring cases are awarding timely and backlog report is kept up to date.
  • Manage a diverse portfolio of CPE Class submissions working with multiple sponsors across Service Lines.
  • Provide direction to learning sponsors and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Responsible for the delivery of virtual and in-person CPE classes (including client focused, multi-day, large audience) being delivered by the business to ensure an efficient and risk-free awarding of CPE credit. Identify opportunities for improvement and work with delivery leadership to implement.
  • Review CPE Class content for CPE pre-approval, verifying that the NASBA checklist has been adhered to, advising and assisting learning sponsor if adjustments need to be made to objectives or how the class is being delivered, so that it adheres to adult learning principles and regulators.
  • Advise the CPE Class learning sponsor on appropriate modality inclusive of technology platforms, secure producers if virtual.
  • Responsible for supporting the business with all activities associated with CPE submission including confirming facilitator qualifications, ensuring accurate awarding of US CPE credit, certificate of completion (for external attendees), and class evaluation distribution.
  • Counsel sponsor and facilitators on the process for awarding CPE through the Calculo attestation process, stressing the risk involved in non-compliance. 
  • Conduct audit of CPE Class submissions identifying team members who require additional coaching
  • Applies adult learning principles when reviewing content to confirm that it aligns to the objectives for the event and that all NASBA checklist criteria are met. This includes advising and/or assisting in crafting learning objectives for the event.
  • Confirms polling questions are in alignment with the objectives and content of the class and recommends adjustments if required, to mitigate risk in the awarding of CPE.
  • Stays current with new technologies and delivery methods, thinking through the user experience for both facilitators and learners while adhering to regulatory requirements.
  • Analyze processes using both detail and big-picture thinking, maintaining process documentation
  • Identify and resolve challenges and potential issues early, consider various possible courses of action and recommend appropriate course of action. (eg content does not follow NASBA guidelines or adult learning principles).
  • Work with limited level of guidance; manage own portfolio of work; prioritizes deadlines; delegate tasks as needed

 

 

To qualify for this role, you must have

  • 6-8 years of learning experience
  • Ability to organize and lead a team effectively, including virtual stakeholders and management
  • Experience supervising teams
  • Working knowledge of SAP SuccessFactors or equivalent learning management systems
  • Working knowledge of adult learning principles.
  • Ability to demonstrate a high level of attention to detail
  • Ability to establish trusted relationships in a virtual environment
  • A foundational knowledge of EY learning opportunities.
  • Identifies and resolves issues that impact the delivery of quality service.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient MS Office Skills with competency in the use of Excel (Pivot tables, vlookups etc.) and Teams.
  • Knowledge of virtual collaboration tools (e.g. Zoom, MS Teams).
  • Manage multiple cases simultaneously.
  • Effectively prioritize tasks to meet tight deadlines.

 

Ideally, you’ll also have
