The opportunity

The Senior Learning Associate role is responsible for the delivery of CPE classes being offered by the business. Will work with the business to review the content confirming it meets the NASBA (National Association of State Boards of Accountancy) checklist for a class awarding Continued Professional Education (CPE), assessing if it applies adult learning principles and if necessary, assisting in writing learning objectives. They manage the class from inception through awarding, ensuring correct amount of CPE credit has been issued.

 

Your key responsibilities

  • Manage a diverse portfolio of CPE Class submissions working with multiple sponsors across Service Lines.
  • Provide direction to learning sponsors and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Responsible for the delivery of virtual and in-person CPE classes (including client focused, multi-day, large audience) being delivered by the business to ensure an efficient and risk-free awarding of CPE credit. Identify opportunities for improvement and work with delivery leadership to implement.
  • Review CPE Class content for CPE pre-approval, verifying that the NASBA checklist has been adhered to, advising and assisting learning sponsor if adjustments need to be made to objectives or how the class is being delivered, so that it adheres to adult learning principles and regulators.
  • Advise the CPE Class learning sponsor on appropriate modality inclusive of technology platforms, secure producers if virtual.
  • Responsible for supporting the business with all activities associated with CPE submission including confirming facilitator qualifications, ensuring accurate awarding of US CPE credit, certificate of completion (for external attendees), and class evaluation distribution.
  • Counsel sponsor and facilitators on the process for awarding CPE through the Calculo attestation process, stressing the risk involved in non-compliance.
  • Work with learning administration team to help clear the backlog of CPE Class submissions during quarter ends by following up with submitters on missing items, advising submitters what they need to provide, and escalating cases to manager as needed.
  • Applies adult learning principles when reviewing content to confirm that it aligns to the objectives for the event and that all NASBA checklist criteria are met. This includes advising and/or assisting in crafting learning objectives for the event.
  • Confirms polling questions are in alignment with the objectives and content of the class and recommends adjustments if required, to mitigate risk in the awarding of CPE.
  • Stays current with new technologies and delivery methods, thinking through the user experience for both facilitators and learners while adhering to regulatory requirements.
  • Identify challenges and potential issues early, consider various possible courses of action and weigh their consequences before actioning or escalating. (eg content does not follow NASBA guidelines or adult learning principles).
  • Prioritize daily work while managing multiple projects simultaneously, sometimes with differing stakeholders.

 

To qualify for this role, you must have

  • 1-2+ years of relevant experience with ideally in the learning space
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Working knowledge of SAP SuccessFactors or equivalent learning management systems
  • Working knowledge of adult learning principles.
  • Ability to demonstrate a high level of attention to detail
  • Ability to establish trusted relationships in a virtual environment
  • Identifies and resolves issues that impact the delivery of quality service.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient MS Office Skills with competency in the use of Excel (Pivot tables, vlookups etc.) and Teams.
  • Knowledge of virtual collaboration tools (e.g. Zoom, MS Teams).
  • Manage multiple cases simultaneously.
  • Effectively prioritize tasks to meet tight deadlines

 

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Experience working in a highly regulated environment
  • Experience in a professional services or corporate environment
