Job Title: Business Analyst/Product Owner with a Data Analysis Focus
Role Overview:
A business-oriented professional with strong experience in data analysis and technology product management. This role bridges business needs and technical execution, requiring a deep understanding of how systems connect and the ability to coordinate cross-functional teams. While deep technical expertise is not required, a strong grasp of product lifecycle management, technical business requirements, and data analysis and reporting is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Translate business needs into clear, actionable functional requirements and user stories for a technical product.
- Build and maintain Business Requirements Documents (BRD), incorporating stakeholder input and addressing key elements such as rationale, workflows, visualizations, and potential edge cases.
- Collaborate closely with developers, technical product owners, and business stakeholders to ensure alignment and clarity.
- Lead and participate in weekly calls to discuss timelines, prioritization, blockers, and anticipated issues.
- Review and approve product functionalities and updates, ensuring they meet business and user expectations.
- Analyze and interpret data as well as effectively present data to leadership audiences to support strategic decisions.
- Troubleshoot issues and provide detailed responses to clarification questions from development teams (e.g., logic rules, UI behavior, data calculations).
- Coordinate with business owners and stakeholders to gather approvals and ensure alignment.
- Manage the formal product deployment process, including user story reviews, system approvals, and production pushes.
- Maintain access lists and user permissions for dashboards and tools.
- Monitor support channels (e.g., dashboard support email) and respond to user inquiries.
- Conduct content reviews from a business and assurance perspective to ensure outputs are client-ready.
- Collaborate with external teams (e.g., ASU RM) to identify and support additional technology needs for operationalizing tools like 360C.
- Oversee integrations with systems such as Resource Management System and SuccessFactors.
Requirements and Skills:
- Proficiency in Power BI, including dashboard creation, data interpretation, and report validation.
- Familiarity with Scrum and project management methodologies.
- Strong understanding of data analysis tools and business processes.
- Experience in business solutions; background in Talent/HR is a plus.
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams and stakeholder groups simultaneously.
