The opportunity
You will work with large, multinational clients who have outsourced their compliance delivery to EY. Our role is to give our clients global visibility and control into these compliance matters. As a Senior Manager, you will have a central role on these projects to deliver insight, manage risk and improve control:
- Insight - working with the direct tax Global Process Controlling team to understand what opportunities exist, how these link to other compliance processes or our tax advisory teams
- Risk - understanding the key risk points in the process, discussing the issues with EY local tax specialists, distilling the risks globally in a way the client can get an overview of what is important to them
- Control – bring control and governance to items which are important to our clients including budget management, standardised procedures and escalation chains
Your key responsibilities
- Leverage and deploy standard processes to monitor deliverables and identify risks
- Building a relationship with EY local delivery teams to understand whether tax risks are being created, how they can be mitigated and what escalations are needed to the client
- Deploy standard processes to ensure our deliverables are saved on a timely basis and are accessible to our clients
- Deploy standard processes to ensure contacts are up to date, have the right access and are assigned the right tasks
- Build relationships with clients to ensure you understand their needs, what is important to them and identify any gaps in expectations or delivery
- Manage issue resolution and act as a central point of contact for both the client and EY network
- A focus on continuous improvement and continuous review of processes to check they are operating as expected
- Commercial management skills to enable you to manage contract fees, work with clients to manage change requests to our engagements and bring commercial excellence to projects
- Challenge current state models, investigate new ways of working, test the benefit of new technologies – we are going through a technology transformation and there is an opportunity for someone with a inquisitive nature to test new ideas, try new technology and look for improved ways of working
Qualifications and experience
- This role is focused on corporate income tax so experience of this technical area is preferred
- An understanding of other taxes and accounting processes (e.g. indirect taxes, statutory accounting etc)
- Relationship focused – a strong desire to build personal relationships both with the EY network and our clients
- Process orientated – a focus on driving standards, delivering quality and a curiosity to deliver change
- Entrepreneurial – we are looking for our founding team member to join us – you will be open to understanding the current state, reusing processes and also driving your own ideas, recruitment and change initiatives
- Team focused – in the early days we will start with a small team working for a couple of clients. You will be coaching the Budapest team, understanding your resource requirements, helping people with their growth and development
- Collaborative – you will be joining an existing team of ‘Global Process Controllers’ who are focused on technical matters for corporate income tax. You will be collaborating with this team closely on engagements
