  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships, acting as the primary point of contact for all project-related communications.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including sales, operations, and technology, to ensure seamless integration and delivery of payroll services.
  • Provide strategic oversight and guidance on payroll compliance, regulations, and best practices across different jurisdictions.
  • Manage and mentor project teams, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct regular project reviews and provide detailed reports on progress, challenges, and solutions to stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and drive the implementation of innovative solutions to enhance service delivery.
  • Manage risks and issues proactively, ensuring that any potential impacts on the project are mitigated effectively.
  • Partner with the account teams by participating in business development activities, contributing to the growth and expansion of our global payroll services.

Skills and attributes for success

  • Experience in personnel and people management, including supervision and team building.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in managing a team and relate effectively with staff on all levels.
  • Proven ability to quickly learn new information, processes and procedures.
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines and identify and resolve problems.
  • Technology savvy, both in terms of using the relevant tools for success as well guiding the client and EY teams during payroll technology adoption.

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in payroll operations or management, with a strong focus on international payroll management.
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale, complex projects in a global context.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams.
  • Strong client-facing and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels of an organization.
  • In-depth knowledge of the multi-country payroll outsourcing market, payroll regulations, compliance, and best practices.
  • Experience with payroll technology platforms and an understanding of how to leverage technology to improve payroll operations.
